About Me

Here are links to my two novels. If you read one, let me know if you enjoyed it or not. If you didn't, please tell me so I can kidnap your first born and sell him or her on the black market.
If you want to know more about my books, check out http://www.richardcox.net .

My Interests

I read mostly serious fiction, but I also pick up the occasional thriller. I think Darren Aronofsky rocks, but I think James Cameron does, too. Even though I’m a writer I tend not to listen to music lyrics. So post rock and various electronic/ambient music is great for me. I’m also a pretty good golfer and I used to play basketball every week.

I'd like to meet:

Stephen King. Tiger Woods. Jonathan Franzen. David Mitchell. Jack Rebney. Anybody.

Music:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Boards of Canada, Juno Reactor, Death in Vegas, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Sigur Rós, The Moscow Coup Attempt, The Flaming Lips, Hammock, Blonde Redhead, Mono, Valley of the Giants, M83, Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Sparklehorse, Surrounded, Dirty Three, My Bloody Valentine, Delerium, Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, Fluke, Led Zeppelin, DJ Shadow, Thievery Corporation, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Anything Box, The Doors, Green Day, Nirvana, U2, Jenny Labow. Guilty pleasure is 80s music.

Movies:

Requiem for a Dream, Office Space, Election, Adaptation, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Swingers, Made, Dead Poets Society, The Fugitive, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Wedding Crashers, Contact, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Lost in Translation, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Garden State, Raising Arizona, The Shawshank Redemption, Terminator 2, Traffic, Meet the Parents, Best in Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fail-Safe, Fargo, The Good Girl, Schindler's List, Silence of the Lambs, This is Spinal Tap, Stranger than Fiction.

Check out the first set of outtakes on the Made DVD. Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Television:

Microwave technology is the mark of the Beast!

Books:

The Corrections - Jonathan Franzen, The Stand - Stephen King, Lonesome Dove - Larry McMurtry, The Gold Coast - Nelson DeMille, Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides, Election - Tom Perrotta, The White Hotel - D.M. Thomas, I Know This Much Is True - Wally Lamb, American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis, The Bonfire of the Vanities - Tom Wolfe, Mystic River - Dennis Lehane, Life of Pi - Yann Martel, The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger.

I could go on and on here. Why are books last, anyway? They should be first!

Heroes:
