MC TNOC
(Abstract Traxx, Nocturnal Vybz, Muck Crew,
Buckle Up Beats, COK Recordings, Spread the Word, Atari Safari,
Ill Magic, 40 oz., BMC Empires,
CT)
Connecticut based MC Tnoc began writing hip hop lyrics at the
age of 13. Now with over 12 years experience, this veteran lyricist
has become a staple in the northeast hip hop and rave scene. Recently
forming an unstoppable duo with freestyle rhymer/b-boy and long
time friend MC Napalm, the two have been creating a serious buzz
in new England and the Tri-State area for their work in both hip
hop and drum n' bass. Tnoc collaborates with many different DJ's,
MC's, Producers, and Musicians in many different genres of music.
Tnoc got his start performing live back in 2001 rhyming over jump
up drum n' bass. He began running a drum n' bass/breakbeat weekly
along with his other group members in early 2002. In late 2002 Tnoc
formed his own record label, Abstract Traxx, and self released his
debut album of original hip hop songs in late 2003. Now in 2005,
he is touring all over the Northeast with a second hip hop album
in the works, as well as some original drum n' bass productions.
Abstract Traxx has now branched out to include services of music
production (for vocal artists), promotion, ghostwriting, and event
planning/production. Tnoc's multiple syllable rhyming style combined
with intelligent metaphors leaves him a force to be reckoned with.
Tnoc's open minded approach to music always leads to an innovative
performance disregarding the typical boundaries of genres.
MC NAPALM
(Abstract Traxx, Nocturnal Vybz, Muck Crew,
Buckle Up Beats, COK Recordings, Spread the Word, Atari Safari,
Ill Magic, 40 oz., BMC Empires,
CT)
MC Napalm first became immersed in hip hop culture in the late
80's in New Jersey where he learned the art of b-boyin', poppin',
and lockin'. After moving to CT, he began to hone his skills as
a freestyle MC at age 14. Napalm is known for picking apart the
competition and cutting them down to size with his fierce delivery
and his clever battle rhymes. Now teamed up with long time friend
Tnoc, the two bring styles that are as different as night and day,
but come together for a better combination than milk and cookies.
They are known for their old school breakbeat style seamlessly blended
with groundbreaking new sub-genres of hip hop. Napalm is well known
all across the Tri-state area as a b-boy, and has showcased his
popping skills on stage alongside hip hop legend KRS-ONE. Napalm
is a true asset to hip hop, breakbeat, and drum n' bass culture,
his improv performance and defining character leave him a step above
the rest.
PSYLAB
[Live PA] (Soul-Trance, Psy Breaks, Jungle, 2-step
Garage)
psylabunderground.com, Gnomefatty Kollektiv, Abstract Traxx,
Sonic Beating, Boston, MA
Check out tracks at: Psylab
Website Boston-based Psylab consists of a core group of
four individuals dedicated to concocting the most potent variety
of live electronic dance music. Bassist Joe Giglio and drummer Steve
Asaro formed Nikulydin in 2000 which by 2001, consisted of at least
9 people. After natural progressions and evolution, Nikulydin spawned
its first entity in quartet form: Psylab. Psylab's style incorporates
almost every facet of EDM under the stars, from deep house to psy-trance,
hard house to breakbeat, jungle to dubstep. The aim is to sound
akin to a live DJ set, but with a repertoire of mostly off-the-cuff,
improvised dance music. Asaro crosses the digital boundary by performing
with a V-drum kit, which enables him to utilize otherwise unattainable
drum sounds. Giglio uses a graphite-necked Modulus bass with a wide
array of synth modules to create electronic bass tones and room-shaking
subbass sounds. Visuals expert Ed Guild (aka vizzie) adds another
element of psychedelia to the band's act, with his abstract images
projected onto a large screen backdrop behind the band. Occasionally
he incorporates a live video feed into his projected mix such that
audience members might see warped likenesses of themselves on the
screen. Dr Nigel (keys, synth) provides the lucidity behind the
rhythmic spine, with a clear cut focus on sonic patterns, samples,
melodic loops, polyrhythms and ambient space. Dr Nigel (aka Neil
Larson) combines his love of early-romantic style fluidity with
nasty jungle beats to form his role with Psylab. Psylab sets are
typically based on spontaneity and intuition. Therefore audience
and the band may have identical expectations of where the music
should go. The greatest Psylab moments are the ones based purely
upon accidents. When a "wrong note" is hit, it may in turn become
a right one, and set the band in an entirely new direction. At least
90% of Psylab is completely improvisational and will never happen
again. The other 10% is loosely based upon a structured arrangement,
but again- never happens the same way twice. Psylab has been performing
at various events in the Northeast region and will soon be planning
a U.S. and Canadian tour. They have been known to work with such
local collectives as Sonic Beating/Changmian, Redtail Collective,
Circle / Gnomefatty and others. To date they have shared the stage
with such notable acts as DJ Tym Ryan (Rise); goa-trancers Nick
Binary, Ammon EP, Mathwin and Dino (Sonic Beating / Changmian);
Baltimore Dubstep Ambassador Joe Nice (Gourmetbeats.com, Rinse FM,
2CharmingCrew); EC Army dnb bomb-droppers J-FUSE and Illux (Elemental
Compounds, EC Army), ambient artist dj jeremy (WZBC, circle), and
2-step SoulChampions G-Notorious and Jam-2.
DADDY GREEN JEANS
Abstract Traxx, Atari Safari, RI DnB, Headspinn, MA (DnB)
Starting back In 2000, Daddy Green Jeans has been pursuing the DnB sound for over 5 years. His djing/promoting career started at an underground studio in Worcester called the spot. On weekdays disc jockeys used the spot to practice and record, and weekends the place was used for underground parties.
Eventually he became interested in doing shows at legal venues, and began throwing and playing at events across New England including both the major new years shows this year. As a dj, Daddy Green Jeans knows the tracks to play to keep the crowd moving. He refuses to bow down to the top 40 dnb scene, so you can always guarantee an original set. His superb mixing skills, and flawless transforms and cuts will make you want to dance until you collapse but what really makes Daddy Green Jeans stand out is his stage presence and energy behind the decks. Usually accompanied by MC's Tnoc and Napalm,
the trio is quickly climbing the ranks and show no signs of slowing
down.
DJ PLEX
(Funky House)

Plex drops House bombs like no other. He assaults the dancefloor with his blend of bangin' tracks, aggressive mixing, and intense love for the music. Above all, he loves to have fun and share his love for music with others. The energy combined with the music will leave you with an experience you will never forget!
SNEAKER AND THE DRYER
(Breakbeat Specialists)
Abstract Traxx, Floorburnerz, Spread the Word, Headspinn, MA (Nu-skool
Breaks)
Sneaker and The Dryer a.k.a. (DJ Red Echo and DJ Btz) Have been working at this DJ thing for some time now. Their name originated when they first started turning wax, their friends used to say, "Its the sneaker in the dryer", cause they sounded like someone threw a sneaker IN the dryer. Now with their grown maturity and confidence behind the decks, this duo no where near sounds like that, so they replaced the, "in" with "and", and formed Sneaker and The Dryer.Watch out for this duo as they work their way through a rebounding New England Scene, dropping the hottest, funkiest, breakbeat bombs and get ready to......GET YOUR FEET WET.
