My websites, the first is my own and the other two I co-created with my husband:
* Metal And Madness
* Notes From The 80s!
* Project Absurd
I love Rock/hard rock/metal/80s metal concerts and club shows, 80s Pop Culture, travel and the absurd in life.
Speaking of absurd, I'm also a huge Yankees fan. No apologies! :o)
I'm just here to make friends. No crazies or anything. I AM MARRIED TO A WONDERFUL MAN AND I'M VERY HAPPY! :o) I want to meet old friends, fun people who have loved hard rock and metal music since the 80s, musicians who played or still play this kind of music, and other metal girls that can hang. Also welcome is anyone who loves the 80s as much as I do as well as any 80s pop artists.
Because the requests are getting stupid again, I'm putting this back up:
I am not a "friend collector" - I look at the profile of every request I get. I do NOT want requests from
(1) People with no picture of themselves (unless I know you already).
(2) Hip-hop or r&b artists. My list is hard enough to manage without adding bands I barely care about. I'm just not into this kind of music enough to bother.
(3) Half-assed bands - if you're a band sending me a request, know I'm very picky for the same reason as above...unless I know you personally, if you don't have a great sound, look, and marketability in my eyes, you will be denied.
(4) Local people I haven't met in person. For safety reasons, as a rule I do not add anyone local unless I've met them already in person. The only exception would be if we have someone I trust as a mutual friend.
(5) Any man who hits on me. If you can't understand that I'm married after seeing my page then you are too stupid for me to deal with, which brings me to...
(6) Stupid people!!! If you can't form a coherent sentence and/or if your spelling is atrocious don't bother me. This might sound mean, but you wouldn't believe the messages I've received!
If you have a private profile at least send me a message with your request (unless I know you already and will know who you are from your picture).
If you add me and never talk to me ever, I'll delete you. What's the point?
Ok, ok...this is who I really want to meet:
...And Barack & Michelle Obama, Tina Fey, Shaun Cassidy, Pamela Des Barres, Chuck Klosterman, Paul O'Neill and Mike Mussina.
Keith...
Brian Jones
Music is important to me, and my musical tastes are very diverse. I can find something I love in almost any genre of music. I don't "love all music" and I don't "hate all (insert genre type here)". I think both points of view are ignorant. Nothing is that black and white. In a nutshell - I'm mostly a rock and 80s-metal chick. I also love 60s/early 70s rock - particularly the Stones, Keith Richards, and Brian Jones. I am a huge fan of Richie Sambora and have been since I was 11 or 12 (1984 or 1985). And I still love pop music from the 80s, too!
Ryan Roxie...one of my fav interviews and one of my all-time fav Coop guitarists (Damon's also on the list!)
Favorites: The Rolling Stones, Richie Sambora & Bon Jovi (Don't give me sh.t! Smart people CAN like the Stones AND Bon Jovi - they're not mutually exclusive after all! Damn I hate closed minds!), Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Guns 'N Roses (Appetite version), Hanoi Rocks, L.A. Guns, KISS, Faster Pussycat, Motley Crue, Steve Vai, Skid Row, early Dokken, Tesla, Cinderella, Electric Angels, Babylon A.D., Tyketto and so much more. I like most rock, and hard rock/metal music except that which has a whiner or a screamer instead of a singer. I like most 80s/early 90s metal. What else? I also like The Dictators, Joan Jett, The Ramones...
Richie..."Stranger In This Town" 11/04/2007
Newer rock stuff I like: Backyard Babies, Silvertide, Kelly Clarkson, Roxie77, Brides Of Destruction, Velvet Revolver, Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters, A.F.I., Saliva, The Darkness, Jet, The Killers, Towers Of London, Pink Spiders, Villians of Vaudeville, Happy Pill...
Music with a killer bass groove, driving guitar and melody are always my favorites - be it rock, metal, punk - whatever - labels are stupid!
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and still love the pop music of those eras, too: Shaun Cassidy, Duran Duran, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Rick Springfield, Madonna, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Bangles, The GoGos, Culture Club/Boy George, Wham!, Andy Gibb and so many more...and yeah, I like Weird Al! Problem? :o)
Early Gn'R...how I miss them...
Had this picture of Nikki on the wall by my bed back in high school...
The good old days...
Some of my favorite movies: Almost anything Johnny Depp has ever done...and Almost Famous, Wayne's World, Rockstar, The Lost Boys, Interview With A Vampire, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club (all those John Hughes films!), Grease, The Goonies, Better Off Dead, Office Space, Napoleon Dynamite, Dirty Dancing, Eddie & The Cruisers, It Happened One Night... (I love Clark Gable!), and old Marilyn Monroe films...
Oh, and Ham and I were technically IN this movie:
I'm currently loving Swingtown... and waiting patiently for Roger & Susan to get it on...
Will and Grace, Gilmore Girls, The Office, 30 Rock, Everybody Hates Chris, Paranormal State, Ghost Hunters, X-Files, Swingtown, Laverne and Shirley, Freaks and Geeks, Growing Pains, MTV's The State, old Headbanger's Ball, VH1 Classics Metal Mania :o) Oh yeah, and Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Captain Kangaroo - all those shows we watched as children of the 70s ruled!
Don Music is my hero
Saturday Night Live (I do miss Jimmy Fallon, though! I love his work - book, album, SNL, movies - everything!)...
Jimmy
The modern pop culture side of me loves Chuck Klosterman, Pamela Des Barres, Dave Barry, and band biographies. The creepy side of me likes Anne Rice, John Saul, and non-fiction books on vampires, witches, and the occult/unexplained phenomena. My nerdy English Major side loves Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, I could go on and on and on...
Heroes? My sister and my parents above all else!
Who else?
Well, I've looked up to Richie Sambora for over half my life. I guess that's got to mean something. His solo music touches my soul. :o) I love my two personal favorite Yankees, present and past:
Who else? I also think George Carlin is amazing and love that he isn't afraid to speak his mind. Pamela Des Barres is an inspiration to me - she's made a fantastic life for herself as a writer based on a lifetime of loving music. I love that!
