Mark Slaughter’s stellar career as a multi-platinum selling vocalist, award winning songwriter, successful producer, multi-media musical composer, and innovative voiceover artist have insured him a highly regarded and much revered place in music industry.
As frontman for the band Slaughter, who sold in excess of five million records in the 1990s, Mark toured worldwide to sold out arenas, generating unmatched notoriety and airplay on MTV and VH-1. Slaughter influenced a generation of rock music fans with their albums garnishing a total of four Top 30 hits on the revered Billboard charts with classic tunes such as the heartfelt “Fly To The Angels†and the raucous “Up “All Night.†In addition to the broad music fans obvious adoration, Slaughter attained huge critical acclaim as well, taking home not only an MTV video music award but an American Video music award for the Best New Heavy Metal Band as well. Slaughter was also a pioneer band of their time as they wrote, produced and performed their own music. Maintaining control of all aspects of their compositions and insuring quality presentation and integrity of his songs.
Coming up in the ranks prior to his conceptualization and creation of Slaughter, Mark was singer in the groupVinnie Vincent Invasion, garnering a number one hit song “Love Kills,†appearing on the “Nightmare on Elm Street 4†movie soundtrack in 1988, perhaps a foretelling of this versatile musician’s later prowess in the field of movie and television songwriting and composition.
Now branching out successfully doing voice over work and composing music for major television, movies and sports outlets, Mark Slaughter’s incredible vocal diversity is highlighted with credits that include ongoing music compositions for Fox Sports, as well as successful voice over ventures in major productions like “Batman Beyond,†“Bloodsport,†Freakazoid!†and “Animaniacs.â€
Mark takes part in charity causes like his active participation with St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, responsible for generously giving of his time and effort in numerous benefit concerts and fundraising events.
Today, in addition to continued touring with his band Slaughter and incorporating voiceovers and compositions for television and film into his repertoire, Mark recently formed a new band Scrap Metal. Recently signed with the renowned William Morris Agency, Scrap Metal consists of an elite group of platinum-garnishing singers in addition to himself such as Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) and Eric Martin (Mr. Big).
