it's a long hard fall, it's hard for us all

About Me

i grew up in a small railroad town somewhere along highway 12. in that town, there is a train whistle that blares every night at around 3 am, as a caravan of boxcars hauling grain rolls on by and my father curses the day he ever bought a house next to the highway. i wish i could capture that lonesome sound; it kept me awake for so many nights and created a longing inside of me that i cannot possibly describe. i can remember staring across the barren fields of snow, thankful that i could picture my existence outside of that town. still, there is something so appealing about that simple country lifestyle. i never truly experienced heartache until i moved to the city.
