About Me

Born in the shadow of the seven sisters and two brothers. The last stop on the underground railroad. Old Detroit church records suggest the union of a Miami Indian Woman and one of Detroit's first prominent settlers resulted a descendent that would later be known as Littlebelly. His history was handed down and sung to him by his nightengale mother. Littlebelly grew up nary a block from the south bank of the Detroit River. In the winter the river would sometimes freeze over. The same ice his grandfather once drove barrels of rye whiskey over in his model T for extra coin. The ice would crack in the spring thaw and the waves from freighters drove massive shelves of ice up against the shore like dominos. Littlebelly would stand close enough to hear the crack like a shotgun, and watch the monoliths of ice rise up, before him. The frozen rivers are to the north, what the swamps are to the south.
