I am Kim. I create and destroy. I am the bald chick, the human mannequin. A natural redhead, and a redhead at heart, I have been shaving my head for 8 years, and I have many wigs..a different look for each day. I am not afraid to be myself in any situation. I never sleep, I travel the Western world, I'm interested in a million things. I am artist and Individual.I am the frontwoman and vocalist for the Charlottesville-based metal band Thismeansyou, who I have been with for about 6 years..

As for my main interests, I love metal- mainly elite black metal, death and thrash. I like to travel all over to go to metal shows, and drink beer and Jagermeister. I am not much like a typical girl in that regard, and don't relate to many females- most of my friends are male. My favorite bands are Iron Maiden and Emperor. I also enjoy some types of more aggressive industrial music, and frequent goth/industrial clubs. I enjoy the nocturnal aesthetic- I'm an Atheist, not a Satanist, not a Pagan, but I am outwardly opposed to Christianity, especially living in America today. Outside of music, I also enjoy designing and fabricating my own clothes, mainly leather, chainmail, and corsets. Proudly, I admit my geekdom in saying that I also am a big Star Wars fan, and love video games, my current obsession being Guitar Hero. I am a packrat and treasure certain objects- I have a large collection of old Norwegian black metal vinyls, thrash vinyls, old Star Wars memorabilia, wrought iron candle sconces, and vintage mannequin parts. I built my own Bavarian bier garten in my house, complete with kegerator, so I never have to leave home to raise a big icee stein of Paulaner and say, "Prost!". I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful area in the mountains, so I also love long walks in the forest behind my house.
Right now I am employed by the University of Virginia, working as a computer graphics programmer/visualization systems operator for the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, a stellar academic research organization that facilitates projects dealing with computing and cultural heritage. I am currently working in the field of Roman Archaeology on a large scale real time digital model of ancient Rome. My job is awesome because I get to travel all around the world to go to conferences and collaborate with other institutions! I have a degree in Studio Art and Computer Science- namely computer graphics, from the University of Virginia, where I also was awarded graduate fellowship in Digital Art. I like to think of myself as a warrior in some sense or another. I love Viking culture, and Norse mythology. I have warrior blood- Germanic in descent, and I speak fluent German. I would like to live in Germany someday, ideally in some grim old castle in Bavaria. I am also learning Norwegian, and I think Northern Norway is the most beautiful place in the world, so maybe I will move there someday instead. Or the Swiss alps. I can dream. Anyway, I prefer swords and knives to guns, and am trained in the way of the sword. I was on the Kendo team at UVA, and went to Nationals with my team. Currently, I am training to be a professional wrestler with Richmond Lucha Libre and Ground Xero Training School, and that is amazingly fun and painful. SUPPORT LOCAL MAYHEM!
