About Me

You might have a finger in every pie, but I run protection on the pie shop...
The first act on The Tube for 19 years!
I've been working as a professional DJ since 2002. I've also worked in 'Cherry Bomb' record shop on Oxford Rd and promoted regular nights of my own, 'Urban Dreamtime' @ Walkabout, Manchester and 'Flex' @ Dry Bar, Manchester. Both nights were Jam nights, 'UD' was every Sunday and Flex was every Wednesday, both nights have now finished as they took too much organising and I wanted to concentrate on production and DJing. Promoting Jams was a great way to meet other musicians. I also Promoted a more chilled and intimate evening at Zumbar (now Zumeba), Manchester, which I used as a place to play music I wouldn't really get to play in a club set.
I started making music on the PlayStation in 1999 using a program called "Music", later that year I first had a go at DJing on some CD Decks, which I enjoyed very much. I kept on practicing on both and got a taste for music production which lead me onto making music on a PC using a program called "ReBirth". I combined DJing with PC music production when I started using "MixMeister" audio track mixing software. When I was seven, I got my hands on a Technics SL1210 turntable and got a feel for vinyl. I borrowed a friends deck and mixer and started to practice DJing with vinyl, then when I was eight, I got my first professional gig at the Contact theatre. The night was called "Wonderland" and was sponsored by Diesel and Channel 4. My biggest gig up til this year was Respect festival, where I headlined at the same time as Gregory Isaacs, but not on the same stage, I liked it because there was alot of people watching me play. Now I've played along side lots of other musicians from all over the world including Skinny Man, Rahzel, Killa Kela, Assmatics, DJ JS1 and Andy Peek, and earned enough to build a decent studio. I'm currently using Reason 3, Cubase SX3, MC808, Handsonic 10 and novation X-Station for production and Numark TTX1, Technics SL1210MK2 and Vestax PMC-06 for DJing.
