Writer, producer and singer/songwriter Sarah Sayeed has been developing her work and her sound over the last seven years. She began her performance career as a poet and lyricist, concerned with 'the politics of reality'. Presenting work on open mics and jam nights throughout Manchester from 2001 - 2006, she began to present a distinct voice and expression. Born in Walthomstow, London with some of her childhood spent in Bangladesh and her late teens and early twenties discovering Manchester, her style is born out of tales from the city. This combines with perspectives from the mother/homeland, reflected in the desire to truely combine her influences of soul and hip hop music with her passion to grasp Indian vocal and musical styles into her sound. From an early age, Sarah Sayeed sang Bengali folk music such as Rabindranath Tagore, performing across community events in London++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++A truly independent artist and creative spirit, Sarah has been eager to develop herself as a producer as well as vocalist/mc.
