Anatoly Kirnichny (saxophone)
Anatoly Kirnichny was born in Sochi in 1971. He had an aspiration to music since his childhood. Anatoly entered musical school when he was only 5 years old, and started the classes of violin, piano and clarinet. In 1985 Anatoly entered the Sochi specialized musical school (class of clarinet).
It has determined Anatoly's destiny. Next year Anatoly had transferred to the jazz department (class of saxophone) and started to play in a student's jazz orchestra . From 1987 till 1989 Anatoly worked in the music-hall and symphonic orchestra of the Philarmonic Society of Sochi. From 1989 till 1990 - in ensemble in "Festivalny" Music Hall, and also was engaged in jazz improvisation .
In 1990 Anatoly has graduated from musical school and entered the jazz deartment (supervised by K.A.Nazaretov) of Rostov Musical-pedagogical Institute. From 1992 till 2000 he played in jazz band of Kim Nazaretov (as the soloist).
In 2000 he became the winner of the All-Russia competition of young jazz musicians. Since 2000 Anatoly Kirnichny cooperates with various ensembles of Rostov-on-Don, Sochi , and the Jazz Orchestra of Sochi.
In 2002 Anatoly has been invited as the soloist to the Krasnodar Jazz Orchestra conducted by the honored artist of Russia, the winner of the State Premium, the saxophonist and conductor George Garanian. Anatoly Kirnichny played with such well-known musicians, as Victor Gussejnov, Igor Bril, Leonid Ptashka, Steve Vilson (alto-saxophone), Deborah Devis (vocal), Nikolay Goncharov (drums), Valery Kolesnikov (pipe), David Goloschyokin, Leonid Vintskevich.
Since 2003 Anatoly has been also playing in The Quartet of Soloists of the South of Russia which was formed on the basis of George Garanian's orchestra. The quartet successfully performs at concerts and jazz-festivals. Anatoly Kirnichnyy performed in many cities of Russia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Taiwan, Mongolia, Ukraine.
Anatoly Kirnichnyy is the bright representative of jazz music, he successfully combines all styles, from a traditional swing to a modern mainstream, funk and new age.
