About Me

I am not a walking talking meatbag. I live in my dreams as much as my waking life. I can be: rude, sarcastic, bitter, angry, depressed, and a general ball of banality. I am mostly human.

If you really desire to know anything about me, you should just ask. The fullness of my being cannot be projected through a tedious, tiresome, and terrible medium such as myspace. For this, I am not contrite, rather I enjoy the anonymity that this persona affords, despite the fact that most who view this already know me.

My Interests

Thinking. Reading. Hearing. Seeing. Living.

I'd like to meet:

The people who walk with me in my dream, the one I live in and out of sleep.

Music:

The list will grow, once I've had some sleep. If you don't know yet, you're probably not going to know...or you might ask me.

Television:

If I have the patience/time:
Adult Swim, Law 'n' Order: yadda yadda yadda, AMC - when they're not showing something stupid (i.e. when everyone else is asleep) they show a few good movies here and there, that's about it...I sleep more than I watch tv.

Books:

Various sundries.
For the summer: Illuminatus Trilogy, Fourth Turning, Mutant Message Downunder...more
I'm also looking forward to reading Carlos Castaneda, if I can manage to find some of his work, still looking.
Books that I would recommend reading (not for those devoted to any "-ism"): The Wayward Gate: Science and the Supernatural - Slater, and The Biggest Secret - Icke
For those less fearful of the blurred line between sanity and less restricted perspectives check out: Vurt, Pollen, and Automated Alice - Jeff Noon
What's on my shelf right now (order is for suckers):
Additions as of May '06: Utopia - More, Black Boy - Wright, Portrait of the Artist - Joyce, Gulliver's Travels - Swift, No Exit - Sartre, Waiting for Godot - Beckett, Candide - Voltaire, Looking Backward - Bellamy, Walden - Thoreau, The Dispossessed - LeGuin, Is It Utopia Yet? - Kinkaid, Escape From Freedom - Fromm, Meditations - Descartes, some Spinoza, Leibniz, Berkeley, Hume, and Kant.
Dawn of Time: Prehistory through science fiction - various authors, The Virtue of Selfishness - Rand, The Time Falling Bodies Take To Light: Mythology, Sexuality, & the Origins of Culture - Thomspon, Swann's Way - (transl.) Proust, Dubliners - Joyce, The Masks of Gods: Oriental Mythology - Campbell, The Legend of the Great Stupa - Tibetan Buddhist junx, A Clockwork Orange - Burgess, The Stranger - (trans.) Camus, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues - Robbins, The Bonfire of the Vanities - Wolfe, Misreadings - (trans.) Eco, The Power of Myth - Campbell/Moyers, Still Life With Woodpecker - Robbins, Scientology: A New Slant on Life - Hubbard, The Lurker at the Threshold - Lovecraft, Demian - Hesse, Underground Passages: A Philosophical Journey - Dunne, Homo Faber- Frisch, My Uncle Oswald - Dahl, On The Nature of the Universe - Lucretius, Five Dialogues - Plato, Verbal Fornications: vol 1 & 2 - Yours Truly, Be Here Now - Baba Ram Dass

Heroes:

Everyone that has been or will ever be that can rest in peace without a name or face or place of birth.

My Blog

Hey Who Really Cares?

So I still can't walk, and yet I'm making strides forward. Slipping down steps is a powerful metaphor: Big mistake, you went the wrong way, and now you're paying the consequences. My dreams, despite w...

From the livejournal:

Mosquito bite my eye. I feel no pain when I hold on to the idea of selfishness that regards the rest of existence as a spiral slew down a dark shaft of light emanating from without. What means that? A...

My last (hopefully) post here

Ive tried my hand at the social fare, a tawdry twisting tumult; it bends perspectives, loosens locks, but it is stationary, impervious to influence, and unfulfilling.  Myself, I prefer communicat...

Lift your skinny fists...

To be understood is to have some kind of basic need fulfilled.  If a being exists, on its own, it is devoid of effect, other than the obvious; but the gift of awareness is not one without penalty...

Forgotten Reprise

What do I commit myself to?  When every ideal is a hollow exterior for some gimmick: millennia-old primordial, or stately fashionable consumptive.  Why, the question that plagues me, what fo...

It is not Utopia yet.

Suffering is the seed and seat of conflict.  The desire to avoid suffering leads one into a fear-induced shuffle, scrounging aground for certainties to clench in shaky unstained hands.  Puer...
