The Gothic Gourmet was founded on 28 January, 1997 whilst slavishly cooking a midnight meal for friends. It was a moment of crystallization for me when food met writing, when quality of life emerged from sorrow and I chose to live anew.

HERE I AM WITH MIKE FROM MOONSPELL after another great show! Having bathed in that cup of life, I am back. I am revived from the doleful sleep. I am living again (ha!) after succumbing to two years of a void - a musical fissure, I confess. There is a sense of rebirth in the undulations of a crowd hungry for the sugars of life, demanding to be fed or to die.
Wherever you are in the world, wherever you live, you must see (feel, touch, breath) MOONSPELL. This is more than a band; it is a movement through blackest shadows. MOONSPELL embodies dark melodics and doom, while mysteries unfold. Their sound moves with the passion of Latin fire, and threatens to burn any soul it ignites. Beware!

In general I'm a film buff with interests ranging from Silent Movies to Modern. In particular, I am a classic horror film enthusiast, a nut for Kung Fu movies (esp. Wire Fu, Wang Fei Hung - and Shaw Bros.), and LOVE the Marx Bros.. But don't think I'm a database for all movie trivia. While I appreciate those with an encyclopedic recall (wink), I have not been blessed with such a gift.
I've always been a Blues person, but at one time yours truly worked for a company that ran The Monterey Bay Blues Festival . I've met Charles Brown, Ruth Brown (She was so beautiful in voice and as a woman - she was the kindest person I have ever met), Etta James, B.B. King, Robert Cray, Little Milton, John Mayer, Dr. John, etc. I encourage you all to explore the Blues, the original first American Art form.
The State of California is a diverse world of its own with the sixth largest economy in the world. The Monterey Peninsula and Salinas Valley have what you need. EAT SPINACH!
