About Me

Known to many as simply 9X, Victor Marzana, born and raised in Queens, is a veteran New York DJ of 20 years, during which time he has played a wide variety of electronic music. By playing "across the board," not exclusive to one particular style, Victor has found himself performing alongside many of the best DJ's and artists both locally and globally.
His early interest in this music was sparked by 70's Disco, further fueled while growing up surrounded by 80's Hip-Hop, New Wave and Pop, and evolved dramatically as a result of the early NYC rave scene, where he discovered what would later become Jungle, Drum and Bass.
9X has played D&B for the past 12 years, 9 as a resident DJ for Camouflage, one of the longest-running NYC D&B weekly events held every Tuesday in the Lower East Side. While working at Satellite Records as the Drum and Bass buyer for it's 3 stores in Atlanta, Boston and New York City, he was influential in building its clientele of worldwide DJ's.
Often associated with U-Buzzin, Konkrete Jungle, Stuck On Earth, Camouflage, Resonate4FE.com he currently represents his own production outfits, Automatik NYC and Dancefloor Killaz NYC as well as L.A's Tonz of Drumz and Ghetto Life which are run by L.A's finest APX1 & CRS?.
His first trials as a DJ were exercised with two neighborhood friends, spinning Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Reggae, Funk, Disco and R&B Classics in local bars, schools and house parties.Over time he would land more prestigious gigs at Limelight, Octagon, Tunnel, Shelter, Roxy, Robots and many more.
Stumbling upon the NASA series of rave events in 1993, he found a new passion, Breakbeat Jungle. 9X got his first break as a Jungle DJ at Egg a party notorious for showcasing very forthcoming music. and soon after landed a rotating spot at Konkrete Jungle and One Love. In 1995 he became an member of Stuck On Earth, a production company credited for some of the biggest and most respected east coast raves and festivals.
He was also responsible for organizing two influential Winter Music Conference Miami events: the Rawkuts Showcase, which united U.K. and American DJ'S under one roof, and the Ghettotech Showcase, featuring Detroit Ghettotech DJ's and Drum and Bass talent from New York and Los Angeles, the first event of its kind.
9X remains part of the driving force behind Camouflage, the Phantastic 4, comprised of Christian Bruna, Beau, Kech and himself. Established in 1997 as the first 21 & over Drum and Bass party, Camouflage has been an undeniable influence in the ever-evolving NYC D&B scene.
Constantly adapting to trends in electronic music, while remaining true to his influences, Victor Marzana a.k.a. 9X continues to share his passion with one ear turned towards the past, the other towards the future, and an open mind in between.
