Influences: GREAT IN ALMOST EVERY GENRE. THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST (IN NO SPECIFIC ORDER) OF SOME OF THE MUSIC I GREW UP WITH: CLASSICAL (IE: MOZART, BACH, VIVALDI, HANDEL), BLUES/JAZZ (IE: LOUIS ARMSTRONG, JOHN LEE HOOKER). SOME DISCO. 80'S (I NEED TO REFRESH MY MEMORY ON SOME OF THE NAMES OF THE ARTISTS/PRODUCERS OF FREESTYLE BUT NOEL IS AMONGST THEM. FREESTYLE AND HIP HOP WERE A DEFINITE INFLUENCE GROWING UP IN NYC, APPARENTLY (ACCORDING TO MY FOLKS) I WAS LISTENING TO FREESTYLE AND HIP HOP WHILE STILL IN MY BABY CRIB BACK IN FOREST HILLS QUEENS. NEIGHBORS AND PEOPLE FROM OUR STREET AND NEIGHBORHOD WOULD THROW BLOCK PARTIES DURING THE SUMMER. PUMPIN' ALL THE JAMS ON A SOUNDSYSTEM WHICH WAS USUALLY SET UP BY THE BUILDING AND ALMOST DIRECTLY UNDER MY BEDROOM WINDOW WHICH WAS ON THE 2ND FLOOR. WHEN I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO WALK (I WAS THEN LIVING IN JACKSON HEIGHTS) IN ADDITION TO HIP HOP AND FREESTYLE... ELECTRO, HIP HOUSE AND DANCE WERE ADDED TO THE MIX AND FINALLY INTRODUCED TO ME (I'M GUESSING BETWEEN 1986 AND 1989). HIP HOP WAS THEN PLAYED 24/7 BY MY OLDER COUSIN AND CREW IN HIS CAR (WHEN I WOULD VISIT THEM IN UPSTATE, NY). THE HIP HOUSE AND DANCE I HEARD 24/7 IN THE CAR OF ONE OF THE FEW OLDER KIDS WHO WOULD LET AN 8 OR 10 YEAR OLD RIDE IN HIS CAR. THAT WAS ALL IN ADDITION TO REGULAR PLAY BY NEIGHBORS, OLDER KIDS, CARS AND RADIO. THEN THERE WAS THE 80'S SOUND MY PARENTS WERE INTO (IE: DURAN DURAN, CYNDI LAUPER, DAVID BOWIE, DEPECHE MODE, GENESIS, MICHAEL JACKSON, EDDIE GRANT, EURYTHMICS ETC.). ROCK/METAL (IE: PINK FLOYD, DEF LEPPARD, BEATLES, DOORS, G'N'R, METALLICA, TYPE O NEGATIVE, MORBID ANGEL, PANTERA), HIP HOP (EARLY DEF JAM, KRS 1, KOOL G RAP, PUBLIC ENEMY, WU TANG CLAN, SLICK RICK, BEASTIE BOYS, BLACK SHEEP, EARLY MOBB DEEP, EARLY NAS). OBVIOUSLY EARLY (AS IN LATE 80'S EARLY AND NOW KNOWN AS CLASSIC(S)) DETROIT TECHNO, NYC AND CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC ON LABELS SUCH AS TRAX, STRICTLY RHYTHM, NITEBEAT, UR AND TRIBAL. EARLY RAVE MUSIC FROM 1990-1997 SUCH AS HARDCORE, JUNGLE TECHNO AND BREAKBEAT ON LABELS SUCH AS MOVING SHADOW, SUBURBAN BASE, UNITED DANCE, SLAMMIN VINYL, RAM, THREE LIONS, FORMATION AND SMILE.
