Evil Mothers

Wherefore art thee, b.o.b.?

About Me

Evil Mothers began as an amphetamine fueled art/noise project in 1989 and in six months became San Antonio's most infamous band since Christopher Cross met Fearless Iranians From Hell. Their live shows were a mixture of fur coats, uncontrolled fire, and mayhem. They spent two years playing around as staples for Texas' finest undergrounders i.e: Crust, Pain Teens, Skatenigs and Agony Column. In 1992 they were signed to Martin Atkins' Invisible Records after leaving him speechless during a San Antonio Pigface performance for the MTV video "Little Sister". Their outspoken perversions and penchants for LSD and firearms kept them popular in the big cities and European fetish scenes most notably in England, Scotland, Denmark & Germany where they ripped off the finest of promoters. They were kicked out of Switzerland because their driver had alleged ties to the Taliban.E.M. backed Genesis P-Orridge's Psychic TV in 1995 and headlined the Route 666 tour which charted 6 in Rolling Stone magazine's alternative charts. With so much in their favor Evil Mothers still managed to shoot themselves in the foot declining tours with early Marilyn Manson. They bought speed from Milli Vanilli and had douchebags like Limp Biscuit open for them way back in the day....The band broke up in 1998 after a London show with Einsturzende Neubauten. A conflict of interest had Curse Mackey in demand with Grim Faeries/My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult/Pigface and Bobdog playing for Pseudo Buddha/Opium Jukebox/Pigface while Patrick Sane and Sanford Allen chose to start up the infamous Boxcar Satan.Still under contract with Martin Atkins' Invisible Records for one last album ~ Beatings/The Incriminating Fruit was two unreleased e.p's posthumously unfinished for your listening pleasure... ____________________________________________________________ ____Now 20 years after they've agreed to hash out all differences live on stage 2009-style for your viewing pleasure.Step right up and follow me Something wicked this way, please...
