The Hitman Blues Band

About Me

Formed in 1986, The Hitman Blues Band played all over the New York metro area before moving on to the UK and the rest of the US Eastern Seaboard. While the personnel have changed over the years due to touring demands (except for Russell "Hitman" Alexander), the line-up has always been top notch players with the fire and experience needed to lift up the audience. With two critically acclaimed CDs and extremely successful UK tours, The Hitman Blues Band is ready to expand into new markets throughout the US and Europe.

NOTE: Some people ask why anyone would want a gazillion friends - it seems there are some folks who just collect friends for the hell of it.
As an indie band, MySpace has given us the opportunity to reach a lot of people who otherwise wouldn’t hear us. If we’ve sent you a friend invitation, it’s because we’ve looked at your profile and thought you might enjoy our music. Thanks for stopping by!

Close one

Went into the studio last Monday, and started trying to do a couple of bass overdubs (to save Mike, the bassist, the trouble of coming in for just a few notes.)  My mom had gone to the doctor to ...

At the session - what happened when we recorded

It's about 11:40 pm on Mother's Day, and tomorrow I've got to go back into the studio to lay down some more tracks for the new CD.  Here's what happened on Wednesday, when we laid down the rhythm...

Last night’s gig at Thistle & Shamrock

Finally awake, after getting in at 5 this morning!  Had a great gig list night, even though our regular bassist, Mikey T, couldn’t make it.  Our friend Jeff Philips (www.jeffphilips.ne...

Posting again

Well, it finally dawned on us that just having a blog when we tour is pretty stingy.  Since I'm getting over the flu (man, was that NASTY!) this would be a good time to do all the things I couldn...

Final Thoughts

Well, the tour was a blast and I'm glad we did it.  We have three new tunes that got adopted during the tour, and I think the set has been tightened up considerably.  Some new routines, and ...

Update 3 - Bernard Castle

At the Black Horse Hotel, there's a bar downstairs and a take-out Thai restaurant upstairs.  There's also a room that can hold about 50 people, maybe 65 if you squeeze. They squoze. I don't know ...

Update 1 - Miller Blues Club

Okay, I'm back in London.  We had NO internet access at all (as I was told in Bernard Castle by a local - "We've only just gotten electricity!"  She was joking, btw.) Miller Blues Club is ac...
