Sherman Robertson "...great guitar work..." Blues Matters “"...British blues is very important, and with Krissy it’s looking very good..." Sam Kelly “…Boi! This kid can play…” Hubert Sumlin (Howling’ Wolf) “…He has a rare sense of feeling…” Highway 61, Italy “…Guaranteed to hear more about him in the future…” Blues News, Norway First time on stage at the age of 3, but got his first electric guitar at 8, Krissy came into the blues four years ago at the age of 11. Now 15 years old Krissy and band have performed hundreds of venues and festivals and managed to tour with Robben Ford Band and Walter Trout in Europe, and perform live on stage with John Mayall, Jeff Healey, Bernie Marsden and Larry Burton, as well as numerous other up and coming stars of the future plus two CD’s to their name. Krissy regularly tours in Scandinavia with his three piece rock blues band, which includes father Keith Matthews on Bass and Freddy Schaal (current) on Drums. The live set is very heavily influenced on the late 60's such as Jimi Hendrix and the Yardbirds, with high levels of energy put in by Krissy which feeds of the audience. Blues Matters, the UK's biggest blues publication in April 2007 did a 7 page feature on Krissy and how he has progressed through the years saying he is one of the most promising in a long time. Blues Autour Du Zinc fest in France described the band as "the highlight of the festival" in March 2007. Numerous other festivals such as the Monsteras Blues Festival in Sweden also said that. To celebrate the release of the CD “No Age Limit”, they did a very successful 15 date tour of Scandinavia, as well as their first 7 date tour of Europe. The band will be getting over to the US next year. This year, 9 countries would have been played. These are UK, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Scotland, Belgium, Germany and Holland. Krissy has performed on various TV and Radio shows. This includes three times on "God Morgen Norge", Norwegian breakfast TV, big articles in national Norwegian papers such as Aftenposten, Dagbladet and Vaart Land. Krissy continues in Scandinavia to receive rave reviews from gigs and CD's, in a lot of local and national papers. Norwegian Blues News wrote up on Krissy on a double page. Radio shows include NRK Eldorado, NRK BluesAsylet, and NRK Ostlendsendingen as well as numerous local others. English Radio included GTFM Blues Show, Wales and BBC Radio Northampton and Krissy is receiving great reviews in the British music magazines. 2 radio sessions have so far been booked for next year, BBC Radio Swindon and Wiltshire, and GTFM Blues in Wales. www.krissymatthews.com Famous Norwegian players such as Jorn Hoel, Steinar Albrigtsen, Knut Reiesrud, Amund Maarud and Vidar Busk, Krissy have also shared the stage with.
