The Cerebral MC (aka Slli'm) was born and raised in South East D.C. A visual artist since early childhood, Slli'm began writing in high-school amidst a storm of confusion and intropection. It wasn't until college that he began to focus on poetry.
After touching stage for the first time in early 2005, Slli'm began starring in feature performances throughout the DC metropalitan area, and outscoring some of the nations most prolific spoken word artists in slam competitions.
MC, visual artist, web developer, spoken word heartist, husband, child of God, and brother to the human race, Slli'm believes in every individual's right to equal opportunity artistic expression. If you are seeking to improve humanity, and speaking from the heart, then you are an ally of the S Double L.
Below are just a few of Slli'm's highlights:

High score in the Smithsonian Black History Month Slam Showcase 2006
4 time NUSPA nominee (including CD of the year, and best male performance in 2006)

Personal Message from Slli'm:
The truest cliché ever spoken, "Love Conquers All!"
We are all human!!! Regardless of what you think, or what you have been taught. If you are an individual suffering through the false teaching that certain people are better than others, or that certain people are not people at all, I hope that you will soon be free of that suffering.
Humanity is not an opinion, and can not be taken away with any tools. You can't do it with a clever misuse of semantics, or with bible verses taken conveniently out of context. And any attempt to use those tools as a weapon against another person is a reflection of the absence of love within.
Everyone you see, no matter how dark, how light, or how poor he or she is, is a person... a human being. Poor choices do not take away your humanity. Nor does your race, your gender, your age, or your sexual preference. We are all people. Period. Many things are relative. But humanity is not. To deny another person their humanity is to deny the world, and yourself.
The sooner we accept that as a species, the sooner we can take the next step in our spiritual evolution. Whatever that may be.
Don't hate the label, love the person!
Infinte love,
Slli'm
