My Music, Songs and Drums

About Me

I spent 13 years professionally in the music industry and was somewhat successful in earning several endorsements as a drummer against enormous odds. It was very unsual to get an endorsement without a gold record. None of the projects or bands I was in over the years ever got picked up by a label, it was solely due to my talent. I always tried to surround myself with GREAT music mentors which gave me a strong foundation to draw upon. I am forever thankful to those who influenced me and also to those who said 'Girls don't play drums'. Yes.. some do !An anke injury ended my career as an established drummer back in 1992, but I recently started playing again after many years of therapy and also no longer having a place to play. Being a drummer can be challenging in many ways, biggest challenge is finding a place to practice... the second biggest would be to be taken seriously as a female. However, it's hilarious when a seasoned pro shakes your hand and says.. "I had NO idea. You play like a man.. Holy Shit !" .. ha-ha... I have many of THOSE stories... ugh.. sigh... argh ;)I did receive Grammy, not for playing, but for designing the Tribute to Metallica CD which won in 2005.I am hopeful to join a challenging project when I move back to L.A. My perfect choice would be to play with a combo of Kansas, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, UFO and Supertramp. Perhaps a cover band with do just fine.
