sex in all its forms and richness, style, politics, subversion, real punk, kissing all night, dancing, misfit literature, poetry, rock 'n' roll, good greasy food, guitars
"I want to thank Jamie Lamb from the Dirty Babies for the guitar...and Jack White for the pants...." Live at the Cooler with the Luv-Taps, 4/1/05, pic by Gilbert Estrada
Punk rockers, finger poppers, be-boppers, stylists, leftists, sex-positive revolutionaries, beat poets, guitar heros, porn heroines, misfit prose junkies, coffee addicts, intellectuals, off-center clothing designers, six-string addicts, Brit poppers, and young modernists of all ages. And Iggy Pop and John Waters. Again.

"I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God. I place it next to theology. Satan hates music: he knows how it drives the evil spirit out of us". ~ Martin Luther
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." - Frederic Nietzche
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYLIST 04/21/07: WHAT AM I LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Lately, it hasn't been one thing! I ripped and burned shitloads of music at the last house I stayed at before I moved into my new place, and I've been downloading and burning tons of things since I got settled in here. So my boombox is pumping out anything from the Fratellis to Charlie Christian to George Jones to the Lurkers! One great thing about finally being back online with my own computer, tho: I can once again download and burn Henry Rollins' amazing Harmony In My Head radio program from LA's Indie 103.1. It's just as wonderful and schizophrenic and rocking as my boombox, and you can find it archived for downloading right here.
What do I love, in a nuthsell? '70s Punk (Sex Pistols, NY Dolls, Clash, Generation X),Manic Street Preachers, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Hanoi Rocks, Rolling Stones, The Who, the White Stripes, blues, '70s reggae, '60s soul, ancient country music, some garage
And by the way, I am OBSESSED with The Libertines, right now. Best band in the world right now, for my money: The perfect mix of punk and poetry, and so achingly, thrillingly human, with incredible songwriting. As my buddy Will says, it's like England's finally produced their own Replacements. Certainly the first major UK thrill I've received since the early Manics and Elastica....
And have I mentioned my obsession with CHEAP TRICK!!!!
It just might be as deadly as my yen for HANOI ROCKS!!!
In fact, let me show you a pic I remember running in KERRAANNGG! when I was a kid...what's cooler than having Thunders play "Be Bop A Lula" with you? This pic is the reason I still lust for a red Firebird all my own....
Breakfast At Tiffany's, A Clockwork Orange, Purple Rain, The Blow Up, A Face In The Crowd...tons more, including anything directed by John Waters
Don't get to watch it much, these days....
