About Me

Brand new! The Tim Napalm Online Music Store!

Coming in 2008: "Radio Napalm!"
Punk/glam/rock 'n' roll musician and songwriter, rock journalist in recovery, and born again writer. I used to be a Hormone, then I was a Napalm Star. (Click here and check out my music profile for the rest of those stories.) Don't be fooled by the photos: I'm no rock star, I'm not even that cool, really. I'm a mess. I'm a big fucking dork. I just have a fabulous sense of style, that's all....
Currently resettling in Austin after years away in NYC and Las Vegas. I'm busy getting my next band together, The Cherry Darlings - stay tuned! I still do the occasional piece for Harp magazine and one or two others. I'm also working on my first novel, excerpts of which you can find in my blog if you look hard enough. When I'm not doing that, I work as a fund-raiser for various liberal/lefty causes.
Basically, I live for raunchy sex, rock 'n' roll, literature, makeup, tight pants, art, good times, coffee, intelligent conversation, honesty, blowing minds for fun and profit, and genuine friendships.
And always remember the words of Hunter S. Thompson: "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. "
And while you're here, you should check out my music page! Just click on my snarling face below:
And you should also visit my page at:
And finally, here's some important news:

My Interests

sex in all its forms and richness, style, politics, subversion, real punk, kissing all night, dancing, misfit literature, poetry, rock 'n' roll, good greasy food, guitars

"I want to thank Jamie Lamb from the Dirty Babies for the guitar...and Jack White for the pants...." Live at the Cooler with the Luv-Taps, 4/1/05, pic by Gilbert Estrada

I'd like to meet:

Punk rockers, finger poppers, be-boppers, stylists, leftists, sex-positive revolutionaries, beat poets, guitar heros, porn heroines, misfit prose junkies, coffee addicts, intellectuals, off-center clothing designers, six-string addicts, Brit poppers, and young modernists of all ages. And Iggy Pop and John Waters. Again.

BUT NOT YOUR BAND! If you're a band and simply must add me, feel free to add my music page .

AND PLEASE NOTE: I WILL NOT ADD PRIVATE PROFILES. ALSO, I WILL NOT BE MARKETED TO NOR SPAMMED. DO NOT POST YOUR SHOW FLYERS OR ADS FOR YOUR CD OR WHATEVER ON MY PAGE. AND THE MINUTE YOU START FLOODING THE BULLETIN BOARD WITH WHORE/TRAIN/WEBCAM BULLETINS, YOU WILL BE DELETED. JUST GIVING YOU FAIR WARNING.

Music:

"I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God. I place it next to theology. Satan hates music: he knows how it drives the evil spirit out of us". ~ Martin Luther
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." - Frederic Nietzche

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYLIST 04/21/07: WHAT AM I LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

Lately, it hasn't been one thing! I ripped and burned shitloads of music at the last house I stayed at before I moved into my new place, and I've been downloading and burning tons of things since I got settled in here. So my boombox is pumping out anything from the Fratellis to Charlie Christian to George Jones to the Lurkers! One great thing about finally being back online with my own computer, tho: I can once again download and burn Henry Rollins' amazing Harmony In My Head radio program from LA's Indie 103.1. It's just as wonderful and schizophrenic and rocking as my boombox, and you can find it archived for downloading right here.

What do I love, in a nuthsell? '70s Punk (Sex Pistols, NY Dolls, Clash, Generation X),Manic Street Preachers, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Hanoi Rocks, Rolling Stones, The Who, the White Stripes, blues, '70s reggae, '60s soul, ancient country music, some garage

And by the way, I am OBSESSED with The Libertines, right now. Best band in the world right now, for my money: The perfect mix of punk and poetry, and so achingly, thrillingly human, with incredible songwriting. As my buddy Will says, it's like England's finally produced their own Replacements. Certainly the first major UK thrill I've received since the early Manics and Elastica....

And have I mentioned my obsession with CHEAP TRICK!!!!

It just might be as deadly as my yen for HANOI ROCKS!!!

In fact, let me show you a pic I remember running in KERRAANNGG! when I was a kid...what's cooler than having Thunders play "Be Bop A Lula" with you? This pic is the reason I still lust for a red Firebird all my own....

"Sidney, cartoons are BOOORING!"

It's been a long time since I've watched any television, but I will always have a soft spot for "The Simpsons." This always seems to remain consistently clever and edgy, and the episode broadcast Sund...

A final word to the racist idiot

Please stop listening to my music. It really makes me sick that someone as twisted, hateful, and ignorant as you gets any sort of enjoyment out of something I put my heart and soul into. It makes me w...

In Rod We Trust, Pt. 2 (UPDATED!)

Couldn't resist: Two different instances of The Faces performing Rod's solo hit "You Wear It Well," a particular fave due to the immense ache in the lyric and the rural swing of the music. First we ha...
