3 - I do not listen to, spin, nor do I have an appreciation for Dirty South or ignorant Hip-Hop. I don't care about your rims or who you plan on killing today. Do your thing, but I don't want to listen to it so save your time, breath, and the friends request!!
Only Quality lyrics, Soulful & Jazzy Hip-Hop For me.
Side note: If your name begins with "Lil" or "Young" and/or you spell Shorty as "Shawty" there is a good chance that I won't want to hear your music!! No disrespect Intended but as Common so eloquently put it: "If I don't Like it, I don't like it! That don't mean that I'm Hatin' "

More about me:
There are two things I love in this world... My daughter Ambiance who means the world to me and of course Music! I'm divorced and contrary to what my X-wife believes, I'm not here trying to find women to sleep with...I'm here to meet new and interesting people. I've been a DJ for 22 years now. I enjoy digging for old records in used record shops and finding that one rare piece of vinyl that seems impossible to find.
I was a dj when it wasn't cool to be one. Specially in the persian culture and community which I was brought up in. You either had to be a doctor or a lawyer... To make matters worse, I spun Hip-Hop which was not as popular and accepted then as it is now. I was an outcast of sorts mainly with persians, and middle eastern people in general, but I wasn't really accepted by blacks and hispanics either. They would look me and wonder what this middle eastern kid knows about Hip-Hop. Needless to say they got a major surprise but the respect wasn't there. Even persian promoters would not book me for their "hip-hop" events. My persian peers could not comprehend my love for the culture as a whole. I was a b-boy (break dancer) and I was a gaffiti artist too!
I can say with a certain degree of confidence that I was one of very few Persians who was a Hip-Hop dj's in the country (US) if not the world (late 80's early 90's). Of course a lot has changed since then. Now everybody wants to be a dj and it's suddenly cool to be one. Just look on my space...Everyone is a goddamn dj.
I'm glad many of you don't have to go through the struggles that I went through. You're very fortunate!! Just remember one thing... The opportunities that come so easy to you are because of the struggles of people who layed the fondation for your success! Don't get arrogant and forget that!
Respect the pioneers of what ever art form you're into!
Now... To brag a bit.
