I was born in Detroit, MI and raised in Richmond, VA most of my life. Running in a commonwealth state, you realize at an early age that anything you want you had to go get it. Combining the styles of the Old School East Coast Rap/Hip-Hop with the club banging hits of the South, this mellow person, but fierce rap artist adds his own swagger to the mix to establish a new and unique sound. BWest-Mr. Virginia; Born Brandon West, is a known lyrical force to contend with not only in Atlanta, Virginia, (where he is from), Florida, but worldwide.BWest, as he is known, started his career in Antioch Baptist Church singing in the Young Adult Choir in Richmond, Virginia. Not only singing in the church choir for at least three years, but also being a star basketball and football player ever since he had balance to walk, BWest thrived on being in the spotlight and in front of large crowds.In high school BWest began to channel that affection of the lime light into one outlet, music. While encompassing the unique talents and skills to write and perform Rap/Hip-Hop, growing up in the “80’s and 90’s", BWest soon found his love in the uptempo feel good songs and hardcore rhymes of rap music in artists. Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, Rakim, Boot Camp Clik, Busta Rymes, Onyx, LL, (Madd) Skillz, Big, Gangstarr, Big L, Redman, Ice Cube, Snoop, Scarface, Eight Ball & MJG, OutKast, Too Short, Slick Rick, Bone Thugs, Pac, Jadakiss, The Brat The Roots, Timberland and Magoo, Missy, DJ Kool and many more are just a small portion of people that has influenced him musically. Living in Atlanta for 8 years BWest definitely claims “The A” his "home". He has discovered a new way to take his Richmond street styled metaphorical lines and combine them with the crunk/snap oriented technique of the South. He's been honing his craft waiting to get the chance ready to be one of hip-hops most notorious icons. BWest, who writes all of his music, says his favorite song recorded so far is "Where U At/Who U Wit" which is basically an up-tempo song with a good bass line where he displays his lyrical talent extensively. With an aim to be "original," BWest wants to bring something innovative to the radio stations for the “07” and beyond.
