Now, twelve years later, DJ RNS has parlayed his deejaying hobby into a premiere slot on the nation’s 1 digital satellite radio service, XM Satellite Radio.Iregula Radio – ((( XM ))) RAW & UNCUT can be heard every Tuesday at 10 pm on XM Satellite Radio - Channel 66 and DirecTV - Channel 846. The show also features co-host Young E and special guest appearances from national recording artists. With millions of listeners and subscribers worldwide, this will no doubt be RNS’s largest audience. However, he is no stranger to large crowds.In 2004 RNS got audiences in Virginia and North Carolina warmed up and out of their seats as the opening act for Usher’s Truth Tour featuring Kanye West. A fixture in the club scene, DJ RNS has rocked crowds at some of the hottest venues on the east coast including LOVE (formerly Dream Night Club), FUR, The Cotton Club, The Cherry Lounge, Hyperlink Café (featured on BET’s College Hill) and TONIC Martini Bar.His experience in radio began in 1998, working for Old Dominion University’s college radio station (WODU). From there he was able to land a position in the promotions department at Clear Channel Richmond. Working for 106.5 The Beat and other affiliate stations for 2 years brought forth the opportunity to network with key players in the music industry and develop business relationships with local sponsors.
To meet a need for clean Hip Hop music in retail outlets, RNS created the Iregula Radio Mixtape Series. He now has numerous mix CDs to his credit, with special guest appearances by national recording artists such as Paul Wall, Chris Brown, Jae Millz, Rick Ross, David Banner, Grand Hustle’s Alfamega, Kinfolk Kia Shine, Yung Joc, Rich Boy, Eve, Lloyd Banks, DJ Khaled, Mya, Freeway, Trina and Swizz Beatz. The series was picked up by two major urban clothing stores, Downtown Locker Room (DTLR) which has a total of 32 stores located in, Chicago, DC, MD, VA, NC and Atlanta; and Up Against the Wall which has a total of 16 stores located in the VA, DC and MD area.With the success of the Iregula Radio Mixtape Series, RNS has inked a deal exclusively with DTLR to produce three promotional mixtapes for the Virginia market. Back To The Streets, Street Heat and Trend Transformers have been getting rave reviews from both customers and DTLR staff members. On April 23rd, 2007, DTLR & DJ RNS presents Street Heat, was mentioned on MTV’s Mixtape Monday as a Don’t Sleep Notable Selection of the week.It doesn’t stop there. DJ RNS has created a major mixtape buzz with the help of Myspace.com and numerous mixtape download sites. With thousands of downloads nationally and internationally, RNS is definitely building a loyal fan base simply by providing quality free mixtapes.
