Where to start? Hi, I'm a music visionary. I book shows/promote bands--but I'm very picky about which direction I take after each show. I won't ever do the same venue twice in a row. And, each venue name/band has to fit each other. Everybody asks me, "What's your next project?" Recently, I've been booking shows at The Cat Club in Hollywood, Nicholby's Nightclub (working with them since 1998), just co-booked a Breast Cancer event in Santa Paula (Pink Ribbon Riot!), I've booked the Gay Pride Ventura entertainment in 2004, 2006, 2007, and working on Aug. 2008, Franky's Place, Paddy's, and more. For fun, I also do "themed" dj nights. I used to study radio and DJ stuff as a career--but, the radio business I learned really has no concrete future. I did intern for two radio stations, The Bus 96.7 and KTRO Talk Radio. I love putting songs together. Certain shows--you just may hear a cd of songs playing in the background. If it grabs your interest--like if a kick ass rock band finishes playing and you hear an Alvin & The Chipmunks song playing as the band exits on stage--that's probably me. I've done tribute DJ shows to some of my favorite artists: ALANIS MORISSETTE, GARBAGE, LISA LOEB/SAVAGE GARDEN, MADONNA, AEROSMITH, QUEENSRYCHE, and more. Also, I write music columns. Started out with my own KRE newsletter at Ventura College in 1996--samples from my work got me a writing job at the VC Reporter in 1998. Also wrote for short lived indie mags: Spanq Fanzine and What's Reality?. Also, i've written for Buzzine.com. And, I started my, "Kohli's Music Pit," column for The Voice (Ojai/Ventura) in 2001.You can view some of my articles from The Voice @ http://www.ovvoice.net/ojai/rr/kohli/index.shtmlIn November of 2007--I started writing for Rock City News in Hollywood. In my columns, I have interviewed: Bret Michaels (1998, 2001), Lisa Loeb (2004), Dee Snider of Twisted Sister (1998) Sugarcult (2002,2004), Anthrax, Amy Lee of Evanescence (2007), Korn's Jonathan Davis & Munky (2007), Buckcherry's Joshua Todd (2007), Garbage's Butch Vig (2002), Joe Satriani (1998), Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess (2001), Queensryche's Geoff Tate (2002), Don Dokken (2000), and more. I've photographed John Entsistle of The Who when he performed at the Majestic Ventura Theater in 1998. Got into an argument with Jeff LaBar of Cinderella (he was a complete jerk! However, i'm still addicted to the music of Cinderella.)

Interned at Sony Music in 1999. My goal was to work for music mastermind, John Kalodner. He came to visit me once. And, I networked and helped out his label, Portrait Records for the Great White/Ratt albums. Met a band called, Protein. And, cut stickers for bands like: Dangerman and Bolt Upright.

Also co-produced The Rock Revolution @ 95.9 The Octopus with FUNK and INSANE DARRELL WAYNE. That was probably one of my favorite music experiences. Just working for Barry Funkhouser was a great time. He managed to always keep the room alive and fun. Everyone around him seemed to be good people. Insane Darrell Wayne was fun to work with as well. Did you ever hear about the DJ at KROQ that did a disco burning fire at The Beach? Well, that was him...

I've got to say--the greatest element of everything I've done with music so far--is the people I've come across. I enjoy meeting new people. And, I could go on and on all day with the memories. To anyone I've come across--even if it's been bad--I enjoy the adventure between everyone I've met. Thank you to all.
