OK, so that’s what some magazines have to say about me. Big deal - listen for yourself and see if you agree. I was born and raised in Norway, spent half of my life in Los Angeles and moved to Minneapolis a little over a year ago.
If a magazine were to give me the perfect critique, it would look something like this: The songwriting of The Beatles, the energy of the Sex Pistols, the warmth of Nat King Cole, the flamboyance of Stephen Tyler, the humor of The Violent Femmes, the virtuosity of Freddie Mercury, the soul of Billie Holiday, the balls of AC/DC and the spirit and determination of Gandhi.
...of course, that’s in my dreams, but you get the idea - that’s what I aspire to.
I’m currently preparing to record my debut album, which will be released sometime in 2008. I am so excited about doing this record, as it will be the record I’ve always wanted to make - all the songs I’ve always wanted to put together on one album; an amazing team of people I’ll be recording the album with and complete creative freedom to make it a product I will be proud of for the rest of my life.
Of course, me being a complete melody-junkie, the album will have more hooks and melodies than you can shake a stick at - lt’ll basically be catchier than an STD, so you don’t have to worry about a huge departure from the style you’re used to hearing from me:).
In the meantime, enjoy the songs on my player - I’ll be throwing in a new one every now and then.
