Adversity Breeds Creation is a local band from Ventura County California determined to make their place in the music industry. The band consists of Rob B on lead vocals, AJ Lee on guitar & backing vocals, Sleestak on bass guitar & Ryan “G Money†Hickey on drums. Rob & AJ formed the band back in late 2004 with Sleestak and it wasn’t long before Ryan was brought on board to replace original drummer Dan Powers. They began gigging at Nicholby’s Night Club and by their 3rd gig, they had taken 1st place in Nicholby’s Battle of the Bands beating out the competition by more than a 2/3 vote, after which they played regularly on Saturday nights in Nicholby’s Alibi Lounge. Since then, they have gone on to play consistently around Ventura at places like Nicholby’s, Sans Souci, The Red Cove, DJ's & The Experi-mental Cafe as well as playing gigs at The Joint in Los Angeles & The Ventura Theatre, taking 2nd place in BW Records Battle of the Bands. Adversity Breeds Creation’s music is a diverse blend of influences including rock, rap, punk, funk & blues. From the feel good bounce of “Chillin’ on Ice†to the heavy, dark assault of “Malicious Intent†to the rapid fire political commentary of “Eyesâ€, they consistently deliver solid music with well thought out lyrics with catchy grooves.
