I was born into a music loving family...My Grandma Ivy still leads her church choir after many years, my Uncle Lloyd (Bass Wizard) of 'Lloyd parks & The we the People Band' has long been established as one of the top reggae backing bands...working with the likes of my hero, the late 'Dennis Brown', John Holt, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Big Youth, U-Roy and many many more reggae heavyweights... As well as recordings in his own right, such as, 'Mafia', 'Officially' and 'Baby hang up the phone'...He has been my number one inspiration since I was in potty training! I used to follow him to rehearsals, studio sessions and shows everytime he was over here in the UK or if I was in JA. I wasn't interested in the things girls of eight years would or should normally be interested in. I much rather sit in a corner and watch him create ...D'ya know what I mean?!!! And my cousins make music...& My brother drums & My other brother produces funky house...My Grandad George for years wanted to play piano, and so he learn't to play when he was 70 years old! God Rest his soul... I learn't the classical guitar,violin and bassoon for a while at school & sang in the choir. I remember when we sang backing vocals for Barry Manilow at Wembley!!! I used to keep that to myself...I don't business now...and wot!!!??? I'm proud! And I also used to write songs & poetry at school,dance ballet and tap...performing. Then later on at 18, I was in a soul and reggae band called '24 Carat Gold' with some friends. After a year or so of being in '24ct gold', due to circumstances at the time, all hopes of a music career went clean out of the window and unfortunately My confidence went with it! After 8 years, it took a while to build my confidence back up,so that I could discover who or what I was about...I did a lot of soul searching... I started to open my eyes, with help & guidance from The Almighty and I was surrounded by positive energies, And my guardian Angel 'Amanda'. I decided to take acting & singing classes, then I joined a jazz outfit called '2 Deep' also featuring Wade Austin & my bonifide Zena Edwards and Alison Evelyn... I was in '2 deep' for a while, gained some more confidence back and then bowed out to embark on my own personal creative development.I bought a keyboard and a dictaphone and then started to record some songs and melodies. I spent the next year or two writing, growing & learning. My mate then introduced me to Johnny Bap, who I will be forever indebted to for teaching me how to programme music on Logic, because from there I was able to make even more discoveries about my creative self.Then I was introduced to CDR (Nwachukwu & Gavin Alexanders night @ Plastic People) and that got my juices flowing...I was off! Every month I'd be down there with my CDR, anxiously waiting to get played along with the other producers...adrenaline was pumping and shit...it was crazy...inspired me even more, still does to this day. After a lot of sacrifice (You wouldn't even believe just how much...) I invested in some equipment and started to programme/create at home and then...my life changed. The vibes flowed and I am forever high on the music...So, you know what I say...? DO NOT LET FEAR STUNT YOUR CREATIVE GROWTH. If you have a creative spirit which is not being fed and it is left to dry up and rot, it's only a matter of time before you completely 'lose it' (mentally...) I nearly did...Fi real! Oh and those people who try to MASH UR VIBE... mek dem go weh!!! Positive energies only... Thanks for checking me at my page. ONE LOVE & VIBEOLOGY DA PARX
