What other people have said:
"With an angelic voice and an obvious knack for deeper lyrical meaning, Drysdale proved to be a sweeter slice of Fiona's Apple." Drum Media, April, 2007

"become entranced by these simple melodies and very direct and acute observations on love and life." Groove Magazine, 2006

"Pippa Drysdale, peripatetic poetess and perceptive observer of Daily Life" reAKT magazine, 2006

What I say:
I love music. When I was two months old, the only thing that would put me to sleep was Jackson Browne or The Eagles. These days music does the opposite thing - it takes all my attention. I can't even hold a conversation if there's a song playing that I like. This gets me into quite a lot of trouble : ) I also love lyrics, which is probably kind of obvious when you listen to my songs. My music has been likened to that of Natalie Merchant, Suzanne Vega, Fiona Apple and Jewel. I have lived all over the place (Africa, Melbourne and New York) and currently live in Perth, Australia...I play lots of gigs and festivals, have two CDs and am finishing off the writing of my third one.
Other stuff:

2006:
-Released "Helium"
-Nannup Festival
-WAMi Festival
-Toured Melbourne with Kanvas Grey
-"Hope Wish Pray" finalist in the West Australian Song of the year competion
-"Calamine Lotion Boy" picked for annual WAMi compilation disk
-Radio interviews on RTRfm, Joyfm, Curtin Radio, Fremantle Radio
2007
-"Calamine Lotion Boy" voted number one on the Triple J Unearthed Roots Chart for four weeks
-WAMi Festival
-Toured Sydney in June 2007
-Shortlisted for the Australian Songwriters Association's Song of the Year (Acoustic)

My Blog

Peats Ridge Festival, Movies and Silence.

I'm sick at the moment. Which also means I'm hellishly grumpy. But then, at least that means I have time to write a blog... Apparently it's a cold/Laryngitis. But it feels like something far...

Yellow Tulips, Ulysses, Fastfood Nation and Saturday Night

I wish the neighbours would shut up! They must be renovating or something but it's been going on forever (okay, not quite forever, but close enough). Of course, my ill-mood could have something t...

Nutella, songs and moving house

It's really nice to be home again - except I think the cold weather might be following me. Of course, it IS winter, so perhaps I shouldn't take it so personally...I just moved house which is kind of c...

Scotch, Honey and lemons

Well I left Sydney just as the rain disappeared and brought it with me to Perth. Everything I own has now been sprayed with that water-proofing stuff meant for shoes and customs has my umbrella. I've ...

Umbrellas, Inventions, Turtlerock and Chai

"I wonder who invented the umbrella?" This was my primary thought yesterday as I walked through Sydney looking for Turtlerock Mastering where I had an appointment. I mean, it's actually a brillia...

Rain, Burgers, French and The Old Manly Boatshed

I didn't realise it rained so much in Sydney, not that I'm complaining it helps me sleep and coming from a sometime-insomniac, that's quite a selling point. I just wish I could turn it off when I ne...

Woojam and a cabbie named Laurence

I played my very first show in Sydney last night and it was SO MUCH FUN. It was at this singer/songwriter night in Kings Cross called "Woojam" which has got to be the BEST night I've been to ever. No ...

Sydney trip, aeroplanes, beaches and strangers

It's raining here. I'm down south, listening to the kettle boil (because six cups of tea just isn't enough) and thinking about my Sydney trip. It's funny, I'm getting really excited about going away f...
