The Habitat

Golden Hill Project Recording Studio

About Me

The Habitat is a project/home recording studio in Golden Hill, San Diego. A historic arts-and-crafts home plays host to the recording confines. The very large and beautiful living room provides the warm acoustical environment for the musicians with its tall ceilings and hardwood floors. And the adjacent bedroom turned control room offers just enough isolation to get an objective view of what the microphones are capturing.
The Habitat currently has two active engineers: Roy Silverstein and Preston Swirnoff. Roy also lives at the house with the new roommate, Megan. The studio is mainly booked by personal projects and word of mouth, but if you are interested in recording at The Habitat, please send us a message. We also occasionally host shows at the house. Look out for postings of such events.
This Myspace site will also serve as a blog for the goings on at The Habitat. So if you're curious or into reading about recording, check back often.
