About Me

Stormrider was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in February 1999 by YX and Mikael Strandberg. The first steps in recording activity were taken soon after and before the year ended the first demo “Born Of Chaos” was released. This was followed by “God Is Dead” in summer of 2000 and “Into Battle” at the end of 2001.
In early 2003 Stormrider signed a deal with Destructive Records from france and entered Abyss Studio in February 2003 to record “First Battle Won”. Destructive Records could not live up to the agreement and so it was written over to New Aeon Media, a sub-division to Karmageddon Media, adding a bonus-track and a video-clip to the release.
In the summer of 2005 Stormrider decided to enter Necromorbus Studios to record their second album “Lucifer Rising”. Karmageddon Media was put “on ice” for unknown time, and the vocal-parts had not been fully recorded. The album was finished in October 2005, but no label to release it on.
In May 2006 a deal was negotiated with Soundspheric Records, but due to a tragic event at the label in late 2006 the album was once again “put on ice”. A former employee at Soundspheric Records decided to start up his old label and all parts agreed to transfer the contract over to Infernal Waves Records in December 2006.
And this is where we stand today, with “Lucifer Rising” being released by Infernal Waves Records/Aural Offerings in June 2007.
