..On the morning of July 3,1999,TINA left for her job, but never made it to work. Her common-law-husband told them he had no idea where she was and that someone had tried to torch his home early that morning. A charred box sat on the front porch "He started freaking out and saying that she better be kidnapped or broke down or something," Her husband, children, sister and her fiancee searched and found her car. She was discovered in the trunk of her car laying on her back with her knees bent. A wire hung loosely around her neck and ran underneath her body. There were three apparent stab wounds to her chest, however,TINA died from asphyxia due to strangulation. Her time of death between 4 and 6 a.m according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. JAMES A. PRITCHARD III(A.K.A.-JIMMY),32,was charged with murder, has a prior record of assaulting TINA.The warrant that the case against PRITCHARD includes two prior convictions for domestic violence, other assaults allegedly described by witnesses and threats he allegedly made against TINA the morning she died. Also, the warrant states, the couple argued about 5:10 a.m. According to the warrant, the couple left in separate cars, with his car following hers.By his own admission,JIMMY PRITCHARD has at times been brash, hotheaded and prone to lapses in judgment. TINA'S two children,FELICITY and JAMIE,are being raised by her aunt and uncle with NO CONTACT with their father. But in April 2002,The solicitor's office shelved PRITCHARD'S case just seven days after the death of TINA'S mother, MARY LAIRD,who led the charge for prosecution. The case is built around eyewitness accounts concerning a series of arguments the couple had on the morning TINA was killed and statements that place the pair together minutes before. PRITCHARD, has been free since posting $100,000 bail in November 1999
