New demo clips have been posted on the music player. The two tracks "Messin With Mine" and "The Wall" are brand new songs from Scott and Leif with Peter Shoulder on vocals. Hope you enjoy them and more on the way!
Well the big news is NEW 21 Guns music will be a reality in the very near future. Scott Gorham and Leif Johansen have been writing and recording together again. The even bigger news is 21 Guns has a new singer, Peter Shoulder. Peter is the former singer/guitarist of Winterville. Scott and Peter first worked together when Winterville supported Thin Lizzy on their 2005 UK tour. In 2007 Winterville split and Peter went on to record his own solo material. A new demo will be posted here shortly but you can check out Peter’s solo material at his Myspace page.
PETER SHOULDER
BAND BIO:
Formed in 1991 and led by Thin Lizzy guitarist guitarist Scott Gorham, 21 Guns consisted of fellow Americans Tommy La Verdi (vocals), Leif Johansen (bass), and Michael Sturgis (drums).
1992 saw the release of 21 Guns' debut recording for RCA Records, Salute, a well-polished AOR album that received rave reviews.
After touring it was decided that La Verdi wasn't on the same page as the rest of the band, and with his departure the group disbanded. Gorham began touring with Thin Lizzy while Sturgis resurfaced with prog-rockers Asia.
Scott Gorham put the group on hold for several years but by 1997, Scott was ready to reform 21 Guns with new vocalist Hans Olav Solli (ex-Sons Of Angels), the group issued a sophomore effort, Nothing's Real, which included a cover of the underrated Lizzy nugget, "King's Vengeance" (a tune which originally appeared on the 1975 release Fighting, and co-written by Gorham). By this time the music scene had completely changed, and a limited release in America killed any chance of the album breaking out commercially.
In 2002 Demo-lition was put together which included collection of demo recordings by the original line-up.
These days Scott Gorham and Leif Johansen still find the time to write together. Fitting this in between their other projects can be quite a challenge! Scott touring with Thin Lizzy (go to www.myspace.com/thinlizzylive to check out pictures and video clips from the recent UK tour) and Leif is busy with Stable Studios and his solo work (go to www.lifenotleaf.com to have a listen)
The hope is they will also find the time to get in the studio together and produce more 21 GUNS.
