On This Day,..October 20th, 2008 It's W/A Very Saddened & Heavy Heart that I Remember,... The Tragic LYNYRD SKYNYRD Airplane Crash ... That occured 31 years ago. The loss of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gains, Cassie Gains, their friend & Road Manager Dean Kilpatrick & the 2 Piolets that died in the Miss. woods that day has Not Been Forgotten! I was Very Lucky to see them Live at The Oakland Col., July 4TH, 1977 W/The OUTLAWS, SANTANA & Peter Frampton for My 1ST "Day On The Green" that local Rock Promoter Bill Graham put on. There were 65,000 Plus Fans there & It Kicked Ass, for a small sample see "FREEBIRD" The Movie & The Final Hit Song on that DVD / VHS Movie Is "FREEBIRD" Recorded Live From This Very Concert, July 4TH, 1977!
