I guess it all started back in 2001 when I first started properly listening to Drum N Bass, back in the days of SAS (Skiba and Shabba). A friend introduced me to some tape packs of Heat Fever, Innovation and Best of British with MC's like Skiba, Shabba, Det, IC3 spittin over DJ's like Hype, Andy C, Brockie, Zinc & Grooverider. Ever since then I've been addicted to drum n bass and still am today!! When I was around 16 or 17 I used to write a few lyrics here and there and have a muck around spit at house parties and little flexes that were goin on around my way. Although it was only a mess around to me back then, people were sayin that I had a nice flow and I should work on the barz and write lots more. It all fizzled out until about 2 years ago (2006) when I first started goin ravin and gettin buzzin regularly (!). I would be runnin round the rave skankin out, chattin to every Tom, Dick and Harry and spittin barz to people. In the toilets, on the stairs, on the dancefloor I loved it!! People were commenting that I had a wicked flow and the barz I had written (although there were only 3 or 4) were a good standard, especially for a chick. It was then that I realised I should really concentrate on dis ting write more barz and hopefully make something of myself one day. It was a slow process as writing barz didnt come too easily to me and I wanted to think carefully about what I was saying etc, and I'd write a few barz here and there (in between working a full time job and ravin most weekends!). Eventually in August 2007 my pal SLB gave me an amazing opportunity and I did my first radio show on ukrumble.com with him and my boys Darkside Troopers (DJ Shamrock, MC Trix, Krop & Kerky). I was quite nervous because I'd never done radio before and I had to concentrate on spittin my barz without messing up, hosting, controlling the chat room and realise how many people were listening! But it turned out to be quite good and since then I've appeared on quite a few different stations doin guest shows, such as drumnbassworldwide.com, Wax 102.4 FM, ukflow.tv, planetdnb.com, phatbeats.net and Cyndicut Express 107 FM. My first live gig was for Rollercoaster in October 2007 where the promoter and my good friend DVS made me a resident. Again I was quite nervous as it was the first time I'd played out to a live crowd, but luckily DVS, Tyrone and the Rollercoaster MC's like Chat, Firekid and Mekar showed me some support and made me feel a lot calmer about the whole thing! Since then I've MC'd at quite a few raves and each time I get more and more confident so I give a better performance.
2007 was a crap year in general for me, family life etc so I vowed to make 2008 my year! I've gained lots of bookings so far for 2008 including an International booking in France and I've got more things coming up in the pipeline in other countries and the UK so all in all a good start to the year!!
I was at a rave in Dec 2007 with a few of my girls and me and 1 of the girls were in the toilets havin a buzzin conversation or something, I was spittin barz to people in the toilet and then she turns to me and says "I've written a bar you know!". I was intrigued so I asked her to spit it for me...I tell you what I'll never forget that moment for the rest of my life, my girl was goin on SICK!! That moment a star was born and she goes by the appropriate name of MC STARZ!! We linked up as the Blazin Starz Corporations to set 2008 off nicely and we have already done a few radio sets together and have got a few B2B bookings for this year. We dont want to put any barriers up as to what we can do and achieve so we are still doing our own things individually, but we both know that 2 heads are better than 1 and we are at our best when we're spittin together, we been tearin up the scene lately trust!!
Have been doing bookings lately with my crew Darkside Troopers who are reppin it to the max for 2008! With the Uncontrolablez crew being 1 of the Blazin Starz' biggest influences we have recently come up with the idea of F.U.N.C.Z (Female Uncontrolablez!). The UNCZ camp are seriously reppin the drum n bass world and give across a positive image and perception of the scene which we believe makes the ravers happier and feel the vibe nicely. Although drum n bass is my main passion, I do like grime, hip-hop, dubstep anything with a sick bassline (luvin dem basslines urrrggghhh!). Also im interested in lyricists/MC's in any genre of music, its nice to hear what other people are sayin too.
Before I end dis ting gotta give a big shout out to ma girls Urban Angel, Kezzie D, Doris & Mavis (lol), ma sparring partner MC Starz, all ma DST mandem, ma badboy DJ's MJ and Harry Bizzle, all the badass up and coming producers out there like Jayline, Messy, Tantrum Desire, Vortex etc, DVS and the Rollercoaster massive, Uncontrolablez, Big in the dance crew, Resistance Famo, Kool FM family, Radical Beats crew and dancers, Mekar and the QC Agency, Dont Stay In massive, Ollie and the Innovation Forum crew for being oh so welcoming when I first joined back in Jan 2006 (I remember them givin me pointers when I was reaching my first rave!!), and last but not least my family, friends and fellow messy ravers (you know who you are!). Forgive me if I've forgotten to mention anyone...I'm still thinking about ya!! Bless xBlazin Starz Feat MC HIC
