Elegance was introduced to the drum and bass scene in 1996, “I started raving One Nation was my first rave ever at island Ilford. I remember it like it was yesterday, after that I went to every drum & bass event I could”. Elegance decided to buy a set of decks, starting out as bedroom DJ teaching himself to mix, doing mixtapes until he had the confidence to start hosting his own show on pirate radio station Hyper FM. Years later in 2000 Elegance worked hard to get onto London’s leading station Kool FM and from exploiting his skills generated bookings at numerous events such as, Heat & Fever, Best of British, Champion Sounds, Rave Utopia, Low Down Deep, Kool London, Big In The Dance, just to name a few. When Elegance is not on radio or playing out he works with young people at the DJ & MC Academy assisting the youths and other inspired musicians to push forward the next generation of DJ’s sharing all he knows, his struggles and how to use the skills from the streets to become successful.
