Freedom Isn't Free. But Stupidity Sure Is Expensive.

About Me

"I used to be with 'it', but then they changed what 'it' was.
Now what I'm with isn't 'it', and what's 'it' is weird and scary.
It'll happen to you, too."
Abraham Simpson on The Simpsons

I like whatever you're into.

Democrat by default, but don't care how you vote as long as you vote. If you wanna talk politics, know your sh...

and your family history

I'm pretty easy going until you get to know me.
I like to travel, but don't get to often.

grew up in Middle Tennessee, but have lived in places as strange as Saudi Arabia,

Michigan, and Kentucky.
I like football, cooking, eating well, live music, playing in a band, bowling, fixing computers, drinking a beer and ...more...
I hate: doing dishes, chores, going to bed early, waking up early, people who make uninformed decisions, and intolerant people.
Credit Card Debt.

My Interests

I like spending time with my kid. we go camping, fishing, to concerts, to titans games, to the movies. and stuff.
I suppose this is the part where i tell you how cool I am.
You'll just have to wait to find out.

the uncool stuff that i do (that will take all my time away from paying attention to you) is:
play in a band

i like to go bowling, but not like this...

watch and attend NFL games
hang out in bars and the adjacent dark alley or two.

hang out with my kid

read the newspaper everyday.

I'd like to meet:

You, maybe.
Someone with a sense of humor, a comprehension of irony, and just enough sarcasm to cause problems. Someone who likes to get out and about.

Purty womerns.

Someone Natural.
No one who takes Progenitorivox

Music:

I love all kinds of music, almost as many kinds that I hate.

I'll start with They Might Be Giants

then Cracker flips the finger to Virgin Records

and then around the world to...

Crowded House! This is the clean dirty song I always wished i had written. Life is hard. But it balances out this way...

Unknown Hinson! "Womerns likes whut I do. I promise you darlin', so will you."

Los Lobos are about as real as it gets. If you only know them from "La Bamba" your life is seriously lacking in the finer things.
This is about the virtual...

M.J. Hibbett. Hell i'd never heard of 'em either, but this was a nostalgic song from day one, cause ima g33k.

Negativland Dammit, i was thirsty!

Supertramp
This is the song Sting sings over the closing credits of "Brimstone And Treacle" a deeply disturbing and Metaphysically challenging movie that he starred in.

Talking Heads (with Adrian Belew)

king crimson

I love Bare Naked Ladies, but really like the band...

Queen could rock when they wanted to...

Most of the stuff i listen to is too weird for the mainstream, but not all. Bloodhound Gang,

Bad Religion,

Dead Kennedys,

The Rutles,

The Police,

Classical (my car radio stays on 90.3 WPLN Nashville Public Radio, for some reason),

Beastie Boys,

MC Hawking

Steely Dan.

Fishbone!

I got nothing to do with this, but i thought it was pretty damn funny, anyway...
MC Lars "Download This Song"

"Don't steal our songs, Lars!"...yeah right.
The man is so impressive! Buck Nelson! "Lifting the clock of mystery off rock drumming!"

Movies:

The Usual Suspects.
Spinal Tap
Reefer Madness (purely historical reasons).
Any Scorsese.
Koyanisqaatsi.
Any Coen Brothers.
Kingpin.
Freaks (1932) This movie was banned for 30 something years

Books:

A Confederacy Of Dunces. (apparently this is on everybody's list when they want to show how cool they are. i'd take it off my list, but it is one of my favorites, so it stays, and if you don't like it, you can go get your own copy.)

"Ain't Nobody's Business If You Do" by Peter Mcwilliams.
Absolutely a must-read for anyone in the legal profession. I've given copies to lawyers, judges, cops, probation officers, congressmen, state representatives, and even some stoner friends.
The entire book is available online for free at http://mcwilliams.com/books/books/aint/

Put it on your toilet. You don't have to read it all at once. My favorite part of the book is that it has a quote by somebody pertaining to the current subject on each page.

Heroes:

People who help other people. seriously. Oh, and people who don't take me seriously.
