Marc Pierce

About Me

“Welcome to my happy period. I hope I don’t make you sick.”
Using his satirical wit and command of word play, Marc Pierce spins tales of love and woe, stories of what he’s been through, stories you can relate to. Whether singing about an accidental slip of the tongue, the pleasures of meditation, or the hazards of mixing love and time zones, Marc brings the audience into the story and bares his soul for all to see; sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always engaging. Rounding out Marc’s original material are songs about dogs, chickens, social networking, Santa Claus, and fishing. Marc’s set list is further enhanced by an eclectic group of cover songs from acts such as They Might Be Giants, The Flaming Lips, Roger Miller, and Steve Earle.
Growing up in the musically impaired city of Mobile, Alabama, Marc began playing guitar, piano, and drums at age six and performed with his father at bluegrass festivals throughout the south. High school years were spent performing at school functions, Mardi Gras, and the Leakesville, Mississippi VFW. Marc continued to play in "honky-tonk" and frat party bands during college before offering his talents to the U.S. Navy where he performed for his fellow sailors in the Persian Gulf. Marc then spent ten years in Nashville performing with satire/parody/comedy act, Laughing Storm Dogs and the country/soul band, Mostly John , developing an eclectic fan base and creating the situations that would lead to his pseudo-misogynistic music. Life took him back to Mobile for a couple of years, Arlington, Texas for a few months, Albuquerque for a few weeks, San Diego for three years, and back to Middle Tennessee, and then to Burbank, California where he now resides with his girlfriend, her daughter, four cats, and a slightly used hound dog.
Ya'll come on over and get a taste of, what John and I call, Country/Soul!
