About Me

Here's more info than you'll ever need! So DIG IT!

Been in a few 'bands': High school poetry group- The Chocolate Sink. Only member of Baron Von Schmiddy & The Braunschweiger Four (1995). The Amish Men (1996), who never got off the ground with our ill-fated, all-acoustic, land-locked, surf instrumental 45 "Barn Raisin'" b/w "You Drivin' Me Buggy."

Finally a group! Professor Schmiddy & The Elements (1995/96) - Happy Hour split 45 with The Lustre Kings, my contributions: "Shattered" & "Outbound"- two reverb soaked surf ditties. We performed a handful of shows and then split up due to our drummer having his in-grown toenails removed. I continued on with myself as Professor Schmiddy and handed forth some tracks for the 1996 Happy Hour CD release, "Surfin' The Spillway," both as Prof Schmiddy & under the guise of "The Campus Kings." I couldn't stand performing with myself any longer, so I broke up.

1999 came along and Freddy & The Four Gone Conclusions left the launch pad with a bunch of Detroit live shows! First recordings- released on Sound Camera Records, our first 45, the Freddy Fortune/Schmiddy composition, "You're Just A Waste Of My Time" b/w an unreleased Jeff Barry/Joey Levine stomper "Gotta Give It Time." Next up- a multi-band Halloween comp on Musick Records with a rediculous cover of a 60's tune Drac's Deuce! We recorded a bunch of tunes over the next year. Then, Get Hip picked us up and released an exclusive MONO mix 45, our cover of Del Shannon's rocker "Stand Up" with guest musician Max Crook & his Musitron keyboard. The flip is a folk-rocker penned by Erik Alderink(our bass player)/Fortune, "Today." We played in Las Vegas and opened for The Standells, and later did a one night stand in Benidorm, Spain! To fantastic reviews, the full length LP hit the streets fall of '02 and the CD- 1 year after the band called it quits, spring of '03.

I've also been a guest musician on a small number of Fortune & Maltese releases. Eric "Chub Marsden" Stollsteimer & I contributed a cover of The Trashmen's "Same Lines" to the Trashmen Tribute CD "Takin' Out The Trash" in 1998 under the guise of 'Tony & The Tribesmen.' I continue to record... terribly sloooooooowwwly. Keep you're eyes peeled, you never know where I might turn up! ... available for weddings & bar mitzvah's ... Did I mention my interpretive dance revue?
