About Me

Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own!The group’s founder, Jim Walton, says this group was born from a Vision he received from the Lord. He was baptized and received Christ at the Apostolic Church of God, where Bishop Arthur M. Brazier is the pastor. “When God touched me, I immediately dedicated the talents He blessed me with back to Him and began to write gospel music only.” The preaching ministry of Bishop Brazier inspired him to write songs under the Anointing to reach and minister to people in whatever state they found themselves in. Jim has an accomplished music background. He has been a drummer/ percussionist since the age of 7 and has received his Bachelor’s degree in Music, Performing Arts. Jim is inspired by gospel greats, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin & Commissioned, by “horn bands” Earth, Wind & Fire & Tower of Power and by R&B music legends Stevie Wonder & Luther Vandross. Jim is also, songwriter, arranger and vocalist. He has played with artists such as Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Whalum, Larnell Harris and CeCe Winans. He has written orchestral arrangements for artists such as CeCe, Vickie Yohe, Smokie Norful, Vickie Winans, and his arrangements have been played by the Chicago Sinfionetta, conducted by Maestro Paul Freeman.Shavone Brooks has been singing since the age of 15. Inspired by such artists as Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond, he has always sought to find different ways to inspire young people to follow God. He says, “Bringing together the artistry of spoken word and Gospel music has always been a dream of mine. When Jim and I first hooked up more than 8 years ago, I knew God put us in each other’s path to reach people of all ages.” Shavone has, also, contributed to the songwriting and arranging of this project, and hopes this CD is a true blessing to everyone that hears it.Ann Anthony, solo vocalist and choir member with the Apostolic Church of God Sanctuary Choir, began her journey as a vocalist when she was 7 years old. She has been singing in church choirs as well as gospel groups for many years and with gospel artists such as Walter Whitman and Calvin Bridges in the early eighties. She believes that music is an important ministry to reach the people of God and that singing is her ministry. She has been married for 25 years to a wonderful man and she thanks God for him, her children and her 7Fold family.Carol Watson, also an accomplished vocalist and aspiring songwriter, has traveled and preformed with various recording artists. She toured during the '80s with the late Johnnie Taylor and Taylor-made (Johnnie's background singers). Carol began singing in church and neighborhood groups at a young age. As Production Assistant for Whitman & Associates, Carol recently worked as Talent Coordinator on numerous high-profile concert productions. Carol aspires to work in the music industry as a jingles artist.Crystal Brooks, singer/musician plays the saxophone and comes from a singing family. She began singing at a young age with the Sounds of Praise children’s choir at the Apostolic Church of God, Chicago, IL. Crystal has had the pleasure of playing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra behind gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans. She moved on to become a choir director for the Multicultural Voices of Praise at Milikin University and continued directing the Apostolic Church of God’s Voices of Inspiration young adult choir until 2004.Michelle Record-Protho, oldest daughter of “Eugene B Record, Sr.” former lead singer of the Chi-Lites, is a songwriter and singer/musician in her own right. She says she was blessed with the same vocal chords as her father (who passed away July, 2005). She began singing in elementary school talent shows and choirs, joined a neighborhood band, and then started doing background vocals for various local artists. She also sings in the choir at Apostolic Church of God Sanctuary Choir in Chicago.Dana Anthony, singer/musician has been singing since she was little girl. She has always had a love for music starting with band moving on to chorus and she’s been singing ever since.
