Létající rabín (The Flying Rabbi)

Eastern European Roots of Jewish Music

About Me

Band now called "Létající rabín" (The Flying Rabbi) started as a project of four schoolmates from grammar school in town called Prost--jov, Czech Republic, under the name "Klezmer Quartet", in 2001. From its begginings, friends tried to focus on traditional wedding music of Eastern European Jews - the klezmer. After years of searching, two LPs, concerts in whole Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and Slovenia, band, titled now "The Flying Rabbi" found itself in thrilling atmosphere of jewish "shtetls" spread around eastern Europe. With most respect to knowledge and art of old masters, musicians are now trying to discover this heart-touching music to all, who might be interested in - young, old, Jews or Gentiles, for anyone who wants to listen to the sounds of the brave old world of Galicia, Bessarabya, Ukraine, Lithuania and Eastern Poland of the 19th century. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
