Carpathian Music

About Me

Transkapela is an artistic project of four musicians acting in many areas of traditional music, trying to find its new meaning and contemporary context. Our musicial search revolves around the traditional music of various carpathian cultural regions. The source music is an inspiration for our own interpretations and compositions. We form our music not on the basis of imitations but on the traditional patterns, in a creative way...
TRANSKAPELA
- music from the mystic world of beliefs and Carpathians legends handed down from generation to generation…
- music played with archaic instruments, full of authentic wildness, severity of tones and natural energy…
- music of villages and small towns of all Transcarpathia - once played on jewish and highlander’s - weddings, in Bukovina’s inns, on Galician fairs, on Polish courts…
- music of the sources, creating inspiration for artistic quest, own arrangements, compositions and improvisation .
