About Me

Alessia D'Andrea, was born in 1981; her professional career, started in 1996, when she ranked the finals of the "Festival di Castrocaro". In 1997 she won the "Premio Mia Martini". In December of the same year, one of her songs was included in a double CD “Panorama Musicale Italiano” released by IMAIE and presented in Torino at the “Salone della Musica”. In 1998 she attended “Sanremo Festival” singing at “PalaOmnitel” and in the same year she was invited at the “Premio Mia Martini” as the special guest. In 2001, she was one of the finalist at the "San Marino Festival" and in May, one of her songs was included in a CD sold together with the magazine "Strumenti Musicali" (20.000 units). In June she won the XII edition of the "Premio Città di Recanati" that is the Songwriters Italian Music Awards, and her song "Per la mia strada" was included in the compilation of the festival, released by the Amiata Records. In the same year she was invited, as guest, to one of the most notorious RAIUNO channel Tv talk show “Sottovoce”. In 2002 she recorded 2 CD single "Respiri" and "Segnali d'amore". In 2004, she was invited as special guest in the show of Ian Anderson, leader of the Jethro Tull together with the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma, for the opening of the notorious Tennis Tournement in Rome. In the same year, she recorded the Jethro Tull song "Locomotive Breath", in which Ian Anderson played the flute. In 2005 she also signed a contract with the record company Do It Yourself (with the pseudonym of "Andrea") and recorded the new single "Time To Pray", now released in many countries of the world such as UK, Romania, Australia, Spain, South Africa, Canada, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Mexico, Singapore, Russia; in the meantime it was also included in the “Clubbers Guide” and selected by Ministry Of Sound. In the summer of 2006 Alessia attended the Festival "HITY na CZASIE" near Warsaw; on Radio ESKA and TVP2 where she performed live her two new singles in front of more than 80.000 fans. The 10th of October her brand new single has been out ("Baby, I Love You", a Ramones song) together with her first album "60 minutes: Time Flight" (both available on iTunes now!).In the meantime Alessia, with her pop-rock project, is working on her new album, 10 new tracks and some interesting features: the arrangements have been made by Stephan Zeh (Phil Collins and Lionel Richie) in Germany, guitars played by Florian Opahle (Ian Anderson and Greg Lake), some pianos by David Arch (Joni Mitchell, Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, Ronan Keating...) and the pipes in one song are played by Steafan Hannigan (Depeche Mode, Bjork, Loreena McKennitt).
