Jake Evans Jr. AKA FUNK MASTER GENERAL

Son of the Late Rev. Jacob E. Evans Sr. and Edna C. Evans. Jake Jr’s musical journey began at the age of 5 when the gospel vocal group “The Evans Trio” was formed, with his sister June S. Evans and brother the late Joseph M. Evans. .................................... He moved on to the youth choir, trumpet in the elementary school band, Jr. & High School Chorus, football & baseball. At 16 he chose bass over baseball and never looked back. .................................... Jake is a trained and accomplished Bassist & Vocalist with the ability to teach both instruments. There is and a long list of artist he has been blessed to work with over the years. Some in live performances, others in Recording and Production. He has served as Bass Player & Musical Director for “Chubby Checker & the Wild Cats”, “The Dovells”, McFadden & Whitehead, and many other Philly and National Acts. .................................... He has, in his biological and inherited children, developed the baddest Male R & B Vocal Group on the planet in the form of Ju-Taun, assuring the musical legacy to live on. .................................... He looks to the future, and to the heavens, for new inspiration, a new song, a new day, and a better way. ....................................
