LaToya Denise Friday aka Ms. Friday has been singing and performing since she was seven. Her twin sister LaTasha accompanied her for ten years- in a group they named "Mirror Image." At eighteen they went their separate ways, for her twin was called to the gospel industry-"rapping for Christ." Since then, Ms. Friday has been singing and performing as a solo artist for five years. The transition in becoming a solo artist was a little difficult at first, but she got used to it, especially while in college. What has Ms. Friday done? and what is she about to do? Ms. Friday has performed at various clubs in Chicago like Riddles Comedy Club, Da Wood, Savannah's, The Barn, and Gentle Persuasions. She has been a part of two J- Record showcases. Her first was with Allan Cole, A&R for J Records, and the second J-records showcase with A&R Andrew "Dillaman" Bonsu- where she met G.O.O.D. Music artist Really Doe. Being a student athlete at NIU and an artist, she was fortunate enough to do half-time shows for the Woman's Volleyball team, as well as singing the national anthem for the Men's/Women's basketball games. Northern was where she shined given certain opportunities. She was a part of the Best of Both Worlds concert which featured DoeBoy, that sold out in Downtown DeKalb at the Egyptian Theatre. Further she did shows in DeKalb at the Wild Rose Bistro, Sandburg Auditorium, Duke Ellington Ballroom, and the Diversions Lounge. She is now working on a soundtrack with a producer/ writer from L.A. and has recently reunited with a producer from Chicago named Ervin. She is happy to have the opportunity to travel and perform more around Chicago, and now in L.A. where she will be performing for a celebrity birthday party. She looks foward to doing shows, traveling, and continuing to write and create more songs. As she goes on this journey she hopes to come across other artists who share the same desire and passion she has for what she does. This is no game to her.
