MHI ENTERTAINMENT GROUP FAVORITE BANDS

"Please allow me to introduce these horror punk heartthrobs from the
dusty graveyards of Arizona. This is a band of three brothers (actual
brothers, actual last name CALABRESE) with a wicked
MISFITS-meets-RAMONES-meets-DAMNED sound that is tight, hard and
fiercely melodic. Songs like "Resurrection," "Eyes Down," "Shrunken Head
Kids" and "Crizila" are liberally spiced with tasty hooks you can sink
your fangs into along with all the requisite, whoa-whoa-oooh, chorus
vocals that your black leather heart could ever desire. More often than
not I've heard this "horror" genre done really poorly, but this can
serve as the benchmark of how to get it right. This is as good as it
gets, you can file this next to WALK AMONG US". - JEFF DAHL
Formed in 2003 the brothers CALABRESE have come a long way in four short
years. "We are a very lucky band, our fans our amazing and I think
selling our Souls is paying off because people just want to help the
band progress." -Jimmy Calabrese.
Fueled by the cult success of "13
HALLOWEENS", CALABRESE has recorded a follow up CD "THE TRAVELING
VAMPIRE SHOW". The January 2007 release promises to deliver the horror
with new 12 songs of ghoulish delight. "THE TRAVELING VAMPIRE SHOW" shows
the development that CALABRESE has achieved. Only one listen will
demonstrate the tighter performances, the more devolved songwriting and
the more powerful mind controlling frequencies. Even though CALABRESE
has been compared to the MISFITS, RAMONES and early AFI, "THE TRAVELING
VAMPIRE SHOW" is distinctly CALABRESE. "Brothers Bobby, Jimmy and Davey
have not only been gifted with a last name that doubles as a great band
name...which, much like 13 HALLOWEENS, is destined for cult status." -
Gothic Beauty Magazine.
CALABRESE appeals to those who feel confused by the current state of
popular music. With distribution in the U.S., Japan and to the world
through the Internet, CALABRESE are quickly converting an international
audience. With consistent touring and song writing, CALABRESE are
building a vortex of energy forcing their way into the nightmares of
helpless fans! "I think CALABRESE is one of the top Horror Rock bands I
have heard." - BLASKO, bassist for ROB ZOMBIE and OZZY OSBOURNE.

ORANGE ESCAPES L.A. WITH THEIR LATEST ALBUM"Simply put. Great songs, sung by a great singer, played by a great band" Jeff Lowe Loud Fast RulesPunk rock outfit Orange are set to release their sophomore album, "Escape From L.A.", on September 11th through Hellcat Records. A slice of life about the realities and pitfalls of living in LA, the new album’s hard edged upbeat riffs and ironic and insightful lyrics inspire optimism based around a somewhat sinister city.Produced by Phil Jaurigui at Swinghouse studios in Hollywood, recorded in under 2 weeks, and written mostly on the road while the band were touring over the past 2 years "Escape From L.A." bridges the gap between pop-punk and rock through the band’s brash swagger, upbeat attitude and their inability to take anything too seriously. Orange captures the spirit of youth and urgency on tracks like the anthemic punk sing-along “What I’m Looking Forâ€, their rallying call for frustrated youth "Not Coming Home" a journey of self discovery in "Stars" and their extremely contagious take on, and probably the years most audacious cover, “Karma Chameleon.â€â€œWe put our heart and soul into every note on this record, its not the kind of whine-o pop punk your all used to, it’s got something special,†says vocalist/bassist Joe Dexter. “Sure, I'm as pissed off as everyone and their is a lot of that on this album but still their is a huge message of hope in every song.â€Separating themselves from the rest, Orange, as anyone who has seen their energetic live shows will testify, look set to pump life and excitement back into punk rock.

The Tragedy Club
STRAIGHT FORWARD, ROCK!
This Is It!
No Apologies!
"The Tragedy Club" are the multitalented group known for their catchy hooks, unassuming lyrics, and funk rock till you drop concerts. Shrouded in a sense of mystery from the name of the group to the band members themselves. "The Tragedy Club" creates music that goes beyond what is expected from an (Blues Rock/Rock/Alternative/funk) band of 2006, while not being afraid to experiment and push the envelope. This Arizona band are known for their do it yourself ethic, and continue to grow as writers, musicians, producers, and performers (that continues to influence fans around the world). With former "Spiders and Snakes" bassist, Marty Haviik and drummer, Mark Bolen, guitarist Mikey T, guitarist Charles Lolmaugh, and singer/songwriter Joe Laguna. It is sure guarantee that there will not be a dull moment with this band.
"The Tragedy Club" means absolutely nothing. "It's 100 percent completely arbitrary (for no reason)," laughs bassist Marty Haviik. "When I decided to form the band, I didn't put too much thought into the name. It came natural. I only cared about having a good time, writing good songs, and having fun, far more than coming up with some symbolic, incredibly intelligent name."
"I think its funny when bands scramble their brains to try and come up with some unique, untouchable band name," "Why waste time thinking of something when the band could be concentrating on music instead? Friends loved it, so I went with it."
For a band that has always found inspiration in authenticity originality, and a DIY ethic, getting back to that place what a rock band is all about, was essential to getting back to basics -making sense and having fun. Their ability to fuse different musical styles along with creativity contributed by each band member, and present "The Tragedy Club" with unlimited opportunities for writing, composing, and performing. This "do-what-we-feel" approach to song-writing and recording captures the kind of jamming and improvising that happens when musicians become keenly tuned in to one another. What next in 2007? "The Tragedy Club" are planning to hit the studio in 2007, then embark on a US tour towards the end of the year. A great first chapter in "The Tragedy Club" bands career. But, to be sure, with Mikey T, Marty Haviik, Mark Bolen, Charles Lolmaugh, and Joe Laguna, it is the first chapter in the story of a band that promises to be around for a long, long time.
Please continue supporting the band. Tell your friends about "The Tragedy Club". Buy a shirt and wear it proudly. Sign up for MHI Entertainment Group newsletter and hear about updates and news on "The Tragedy Club".

CHROMIUM -METAL FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MHI'S Favorite New Bands - CHROMIUM
INTRO SPECTRE is the debut album by the South African metal act CHROMIUM. As a first release by this four piece band it is nothing short of a metal masterpiece. One of the best metal acts to be born out of the dark southern depths of Africa there is no shortage of great songs on this album. From the catchy and melodic 'SET ME FREE' to the angst and speed of 'EX AMINO', the listener will be taken on a dark and aggressive journey. The artwork is 1st class and is an excellent introduction for a new born band. -"Rebel Rock.co.za"
