50's bop, 60's pop, with a pinch of country. That's the new sound emerging from southern Arizona's newest alternative pop/country artist, "The Rattlesnake Kings". Spilling over the brim of the Grand Canyon to the rest of the country.

" The Rattlesnake Kings " are the multitalented group known for their catchy hooks, unassuming lyrics, and acoustic rock shows. Shrouded in a sense of mystery from the name of the group to the band members themselves. " The Rattlesnake Kings " creates music that goes beyond what is expected from an (Acoustic pop rock-Alternative Country) band of 2007, while not being afraid to experiment and push the envelope. This Arizona band are known for their do it yourself ethic, and continue to grow as writers, musicians, producers, and performers (that continues to influence fans around the world). With former "Spiders and Snakes" bassist, Marty Haviik, it is sure guarantee that there will not be a dull moment with this band.
" The Rattlesnake Kings " means absolutely nothing. "It's 100 percent completely arbitrary (for no reason)," laughs Marty Mendoza. "When I decided to form the band back in 1998, I didn't put too much thought into the name. It came natural. I only cared about having a good time, writing good songs, and having fun, far more than coming up with some symbolic, incredibly intelligent name." "I think its funny when bands scramble their brains to try and come up with some unique, untouchable band name," "Why waste time thinking of something when the band could be concentrating on music instead? Friends loved it, so I went with it."
Originally a studio project. The RSK’s was formed in December of 1998 with an old acoustic guitar and some songs, And with the help of many friends "RSK's" project was became bigger than a studio project. Now after releasing two albums, it has become one of the most requested indie underground albums in the Arizona music market. Recorded & Produced by Robb Hume. And after 6 years, The Rattlesnake Kings released their second album, "ALL ROADS LEAD TO NOWHERE", in 2007.For a band that has always found inspiration in authenticity originality, and a DIY ethic, getting back to that place what a rock band is all about, was essential to getting back to basics -making sense and having fun. Their ability to fuse different musical styles along with creativity contributed by each band member, and present " The Rattlesnake Kings " with unlimited opportunities for writing, composing, and performing. This "do-what-we-feel" approach to song-writing and recording captures the kind of jamming and improvising that happens when musicians become keenly tuned in to one another.What next in 2007? " The Rattlesnake Kings " are planning to hit the studio again in 2007, then a possible overseas tour later in the year, heading to Japan. Then Italy, Germany, and France for the first time. And finally they will embark on a huge US tour towards the end of the year. A great first chapter in " The Rattlesnake Kings " bands career. But, to be sure, with Marty Haviik, it is the first chapter in the story of a band that promises to be around for a long, long time.
