ABOUT SUBLIMINAL FEAR
Spawned from the heart of Rotherham's dying metal scene.
This Yorkshire quartet have been busting their balls around the country, drinking the bars dry and ruining house P.A.'s since 2001 and have definitely no intention of stopping until the job is done.
Hard touring, hard drinking underground sludgemongers, Subliminal Fear have enough metal artillery, passion for the cause and followers to start their own civil war.
Subliminal Fear combine a love of all things doom, stoner and sludgy to create a new breed of metal that they like to call 'SWAMP' metal.
Subliminal Fear are not ones to limit themselves creatively mixing bad ass dirty riffage, southern rock grooves and high octane thrash. The results of which are guaranteed to keep your head nodding from the first count, to the last riff of their latest offering 'The Condemned Man'.
Late 2002 saw a change of line up with the addition of James McGrother on guitars, after the departure of their original guitarist departed the ranks due to musical differences.
Spending the last few years gigging with some of the biggest up and coming bands, impressing the likes of Orange Goblin, Raging Speedhorn, Sikth, Ted Maul, The Inbreds, Charger, Slit & Godsize (to name but a few) with the power and aggression of their live show.
They have received rave reviews:
-
“the UK's answer to Crowbar†- unsignedandonline.com
“... Subliminal Fear are fucking incredible†- soundaloud.com
“5/5†- shithotrecords.co.uk
“11/10†- Metal Gremlin Webzine

“... to think they are this good before thay're famous is quite frightening indeed†- Atakat Sunrise Promos
After putting their latest release on download.com, Subliminal Fear received well over 1000 downloads in their first week. Being declared outright winners at a recent local BOTB, Subliminal Fear are proving no matter what the current trend, heavy metal can not be written off any more.
Thinking mans music has it's place at the table but that can wait, Subliminal Fear exist as a call to arms for people who want to light up and party down.
Late 2006 saw another change to the line-up for Subliminal Fear with Luke leaving the band and Paul ‘Steve’ Burnett taking his place on drums.
2007 sees Subliminal Fear embarking on their second UK tour with the mighty Black River Project whilst constantly honing their craft writing new material.
Early 2007, Subliminal Fear headed back ino the studio to record the much anticipated EP, ‘The Condemned Man’ - featuring 6 soul destroying tracks.
