Zed’s Dead are a two-man, acoustic wielding, wrecking ball founded by Jim McGrother
in Sheffield sometime in the ‘07. Ari Rannus replaced Alex Bird in early ’08 and the duo quickly
developed a TRULY original sound.
A rare breed, unlike all those other bands who claim to have “a sound of their own†then rip off all the biggest names in their genre.
Zed’s Dead sound unique and fresh even when performing famous rock classics such as their hard-hitting, flamenco infused assault on Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid†or their epic, psycadelic journey through Hendrix’s
“Voodoo Chile (Slight Return).
The debut EP, “Of The Fallen...†showcases the duo’s ability to create elaborate yet memorable songs. “Of The Fallen...†combines elements of rock, flamenco, country and blues with influences ranging from Rodrigo y Gabriela to Alice in Chains.
Zed's Dead sounds unique and fresh even when performing other peoples songs.
This is not fashion.
This is Zed's Dead baby!
