I'd like to meet:
I'm sorry to have to disappoint if you're seeking management, but I'm not taking on new artists at this time.
Having said that, I'm always interested in hearing new tracks, so don't hesitate to be my 'Friend'. I'm a fan of just about all genres of music, with the exception of 'pop' or anything 'manufactured', which just make me retch. Guitar bands are my first love.
Music:
After a lifetime of being a fan of everything from Frank Zappa to Puccini, it's very difficult to pinpoint any one particular genre that I favour the most, but great rock, heart-rendering blues, nasty funk and intricate, mesmerising jazz are probably my favourites.
Whether I'm listening to Eno or Zeppelin, Ambient or Coltrane, I'm simply a huge fan of beautiful, well-composed and performed music.
I suppose there's only one thing I just can't bear to listen to, which is namely insipid pop and manufactured "artists" who can't write a tune nor barely sing a note and yet somehow end up on our tellys and radios in the name of popular entertainment. Talk about "lowest common denominator!"
I played the drums for quite a few years, but these days I'm happy to be looking after the careers of young, talented, aspiring artists. Most of the gigs I attend are to see rock bands ... and managing such acts is my passion.
