About Me

For the last 6 years I have published the music industry subscriber based tastemaking magazine The Hit Sheet which comes with an editorially endorsed CD of tracks that we like. The theory is that we spread the word about good music of all genres and the the movers and shakers in the business then act accordingly on what we tell them is good. In effect we are a filtering system for the music biz.For the last 3 years the Hit Sheet has also put on a monthly showcase at the Cobden Club and other venues. The aim of this is to bring new unsigned talent to the attention of the industry as well as also including signed artists on the bill.Aqualung, Tom Baxter, David Ford, Gary Jules, Chris Difford, Duke Special, Nerina Pallot, Tom McRae, Joe Purdy, Hafdis Huld, Julie Feeney, The Puppini Sisters, Dawn Landes, Ross Copperman, David Saw, AM, Jack Savoretti, The Loose Salute, Laura Critchley, Saul Ashby, The Bench Connection, Earl Okin, Alexis Strum, Beth Rowley, Honeyz, Trachtenberg Family Slideshow Players, Rushmore, Charlie Winston, Declan O'Rourke, Ampop, Bailey Tzuke, Julian Perretta, Jason Mraz, Dawn Kinnard, The Storys, Karl Morgan, Nicol, Carrie Tree, Rosabella Gregory, Doug Walker, Peter Conway, The Heartstrings, Charlotte O' Connor, Julian Velard, Logan Wilson, Rumer, Paul Aiden, Van Tramp, Gary Nock, Jamie Scott, Ella Edmondson, and Belowsky are just some of the illustrious names that have graced a Hit Sheet showcase over the years...The latest one was on April 30th 2008 at the Cobden Club and featured Hansom Pilot, Sinead Quinn and Bo Pepper all making their Hit Sheet debut. Oh I should mention that I now manage Bo Pepper! In March at this years SXSW in Austin Texas we putm on our first Hit Sheet show abroad and the day party featured 12 great acts including Jay Clifford, George Stanford, Sonya Kitchell, Foy Vance, The Young Republic, Bo Pepper, Jaymay, Cathy Davey, Jacob Golden, Jason Trachtenburg, Jack Savoretti and Hafdis Huld... It was the most memorable gig i've ever been involved in... months in the planning and attended by 350 people throughout the day...Can't wait to do it all again next year.Another amazing feature of being in the biz and having built up a great contacts book over the last 20 years means I am great at connecting people up. I facilitated the meeting between Peter van Hooke and Michael Gleason that led to the birth of a fab new tv music show. Live From Abbey Road is currently broadcasting in the UK on the More 4 and Channel 4 channels...Believe me it's just what music lovers have needed for a very long time...I look forward to my shareholding becoming a money earner in the years to come. Highly unlikely though!I now also manage a very select few artistes, great fun but time consuming to say the least...I am married to the lovely and long suffering Naomi. We have 2 children Joseph and Daniel. However I hardly see them as I'm out every night scouring the length and breadth of the country for the next big thing!
